The feeling of having her own family with the man she loved was unlike anything she had ever felt. She would cherish them until the day she died.
"Okay, guys, let her breath," Jake shooed, not liking that they got her attention to themselves.
Tawn giggled at her big baby. They let her go reluctantly while Tawn wiped a few tears away from her eyes.
Tawn brought out the bowl of fruit when they were done with their breakfast, reminding them to eat it.
"Guys eat it, especially you boys, you need your strength if you want to go out with Tonowari," Tawn said to Neteyam and Lo'ak.
Tawn convinced Jake to let Neteyam and Lo'ak attend his daily errands with the olo'eyktan. She thought they needed to rebuild their bond and work on that father and son issues before it turned into actual daddy issues.
"What are you guys doing for today?" she asked the girls.
"Tuk and I are thinking about cruising around with our ilus," Kiri said, earning a loud yes from the young girl on her dad's lap.
Tawn smiled, "that's nice. Can I join? We could do a little girls' day out together, I would even tell Tsireya and Lei'la to come," Tawn offered.
To be honest, Tawn didn't really have many friends around her age. Her friends included her sister, her niece, her niece's friends and the ladies at her workshop. If they reciprocated the feelings too, but it didn't seem like it since she only ever saw them at her workshop.
So Kiri and Tuk now became the new addition to her short list of friends.
"Yeah, sure, we were actually meeting with the both of them so you don't need to tell them," Kiri smiled, putting her plate away.
"Can I join too?" Lo'ak asked enthusiastically.
Tawn and Kiri squinted at the boy.
Jake looked up at his son in confusion, "I thought we would be helping Tonowari with the clan?"
"Yeah bro? why are you bailing on us?" Neteyam smirked, knowing damn well why he tried to avoid a day with their father.
Tawn shook her head in disappointment, making sure the boy saw her disappointed look.
Lo'ak looked at Tawn as if telling her to be serious right now, but Tawn didn't give him the reaction he wanted, instead, Tawn glared at the boy, daring him to bail out on their boys' day out.
Tawn squinted her eyes more, guilt-tripping the boy. He needed to understand that rebuilding a bond between father and son needed both hands on deck and who knows maybe he resolved some tension with Neteyam too.
Lo'ak rolled his eyes, knowing Tawn wouldn't cave in. Lo'ak admired her resilient, "fine."
Tawn grinned at her boy, she knew she could count on him.
Jake smiled, watching their silent conversation. It was amusing how expressive their faces were without them noticing it. They were like a mime trying to outdo each other. For a moment there, Jake forgot that there was a group of Avatars that were hunting them down.
Jake still couldn't tell Tawn about Quaritch, he didn't know how to bring that conversation up. After the turbulence and obstacles they passed to get to this point where they finally became a family, he figured that they ought to be able to enjoy their lives in blissful ignorance.
The six of them spent the rest of the morning talking about everything they could think of.
Tawn and Jake shared occasional touches and kisses along the way, basking in each other's presence. At one point, Tuk complained about it and moved to Kiri's lap, making the two adults laugh at her antics.
When they were done, Neteyam and Kiri helped Tawn with tidying up the place while Lo'ak and Jake prepared for their day out. Tawn couldn't help but feel proud of both of them.
"Neteyam, you need to get ready for your day out," Tawn said to the boy who was being her little helper.
Neteyam shrugged, "I did everything I could think of, I tidied up my rug, ate and now washed some dishes," he said, scrubbing down the plate on the basin.
Tawn chuckled at her warrior. He would make the perfect metkayina warrior, she thought to herself.
"Sa'nok, you don't need to worry about dishes, we got it," Kiri grinned.
Tawn was surprised at how open Kiri was on calling her her mother. Truthfully, she was scared that Kiri would hate her again, but this proved her wrong.
"Okay," Tawn smiled, walking away from the two of them to Tuk's unmade rug.
When she was folding Tuk's blanket, Jake snaked his arms around her waist, pulling her in, "I'm going to miss you," he whispered, discreetly kissing Tawn's neck.
"Jake, are you okay? You've been acting very clingy for the past few days," Tawn asked, feeling concerned for her man. It wasn't like she didn't like it, but ever since his talk with Tonowari, he seemed extra clingy.
"You don't love it when I cling to you?" Jake asked. Tawn could hear the frown in his voice.
She turned her head towards Jake and studied him for a few moments, trying to pick up something that said 'not alright' on his face.
"You're doing it again, my love," Jake pointed out, his expression deadpanned.
"I love your hug and kisses, but sensual kisses and touches shouldn't be the kids' entertainment. You know how horrifying it was seeing my parents or my sister and her mate do something," Tawn lectured while the man just smiled adoringly at his woman.
Jake hummed, "It made you hot and bothered?" he teased.
Tawn scrunched her nose in disgust and shook her head, "Ew no, Jake, I was a kid, and it's disgusting," she scolded, "no it's horrifying. I need to wash my eyes in the ocean with soap and sand."
"That's too much, my love," Jake frowned, bringing his hand to her cheek, his thumb caressing her cheekbone, "It's a miracle that you could still see your man's sexiness with those poor eyes," he teased, stealing a kiss on her lips.
"Jake, you are an impossible and very horny man," Tawn glared, trying to be serious when she wanted to laugh at his awful attempt at flirting.
"Only for you, my love," he whispered, kissing her cheek.
"Dad can we go? I don't want to see something weird," Lo'ak complained, the man just rolled his eyes at his son before turning to Tawn with a devilish smirk.
"I couldn't wait until the day we are finally mated in front of Eywa," he whispered, "Oh, my love, wait until I have you to myself, you wouldn't be able to do anything but cling to me and begged for more," he stepped back, leaving a very flustered and speechless girl in front of him.
"Bye, sa'nok," Lo'ak called out, smirking at her new name.
"See you later, sa'nok," Neteyam yelled, following Lo'ak out the door.
"See you, my love," Jake smirked, knowing he just stirred something deep inside of her that Tawn herself didn't know existed.
Tawn felt the aftereffect of Jake's words inside her body. Oh, Eywa, she hated it when he did this, leaving her feeling empty and needy.
"Sa'nok, are you okay?" Kiri asked.
Tawn nodded, "yeah," before turning towards her girls. "Are you ready to go?"
Tuk nodded excitedly, holding Tawn's hand.
"Yes, come, we have to meet them at Tsireya's hut," Kiri said, walking out of the Marui, followed by Tawn and Tuk.
Tawn couldn't keep the grin off her face. She was happy that she was quickly accepted into Jake's family. She knew that nothing could bring her mood down that day, she felt untouchable.
'Oh, Great Mother, please let this feeling last.'
