Chapter 2 It Isn't Over

The young boy quickly looked behind himself once he heard the impact, seeing that Amity got his back.

"So you're seriously okay with puppeteering innocent people, Odalia?!" the pink-haired snapped out, eyeing the oracle witch, "even after everything that went wrong for you the last time?!"

"The last time your father fought back, but that won't happen again," Odalia replied, twiddling with the moon earring, "I have full control this time."

The Spirit tried to attack again, this time from a different side. Amity spread her arms, forming a dome around her and Gus to block the Spirit.

After multiple attacks from slime and stone, there were only three Hunters remaining. They continued bouncing from the walls and vines Willow summoned.

Odalia was still standing on the stairs, watching the fight. The blue eyes were locked on Amity once the dome fell down. The girl spun her staff with one hand, making another shield, while her other hand gestured more spells, trying to take control of the abomination goop.

There was something different about her, something was missing, Odalia just couldn't put a finger on it. Something felt off; she could have sworn that she felt a breeze as if someone flew past her-!

She quickly grabbed her gem and called out her Spirit, shooting forward. Gus gasped, revealing himself from the invisibility spell, as the Spirit flew right through him, knocking him off his staff. He grabbed onto it with one hand to stop himself from falling.

"As a son of an oracle witch you should know that sneak attacks won't be that easy," Odalia told him mockingly.

"And you shouldn't underestimate a kid who took down a Coven Head," Gus responded, holding out his hand with the small mirror earring in it, his eyes glowing blue and so were Odalia's.

The Spirit then swung its arm, launching Gus, his palisman, and Luz's fanny pack he got from Amity away, breaking the memory and illusion spells. Willow's vines softened the impact as they caught him, putting him to the floor.

"Belos..." he let out in between pants, "he's already made it here...!" Those words caught the kids off guard. They suspected he'd try to race them to get to the Collector, but the confirmation of his victory was chilling. However, what was even more terrifying were the words that followed. "I think he's possessed someone!"

"What...?" Hunter's face turned pale just at the thought that someone else was now going through the same as he did. The question was who. The shock of this new information caused him to get caught by the pink slime, pinning him to a wall.

"You knew about it?!" Amity snapped at Odalia, aware of how Gus' spell worked.

"Why of course. He promised to change everything for the better."

"And you just believed him?!" Willow shouted at her in shock, "after he almost drained everyone's magic?!"

"That's ridiculous! Do you feel no shame, woman?!" Gus added in. The witch didn't reply.

"Who...?" Hunter rasped out, struggling against the goop, "who did he pick? Who did he hurt this time?!"

"Oh, just some Coven Head," she replied, rolling her eyes. As soon as those words hit his ears, Hunter's eyes widened and in a yellow glow, he shot out of the goop right toward her.

"Who was it?!" he snapped at her aggressively, a murderous look in his eyes. Belos took over a Coven Head... It could have been anyone, but that uncomfortable feeling that it might be Darius made his legs weak and he felt like he was about to throw up from how much his stomach ached. "Is Darius okay?"
