Kapitulo 18

I ended up sleeping after taking a shower instead of eating my burger because my eyes were giving up on me already.

Paggising ko, it was nine already at naririnig ko na ang ilang katok sa pinto ko.

Inangat ko ang katawan ko at kinuskos ang mga mata saglit bago napagtanto na nandito nga pala ang mga bag ng mga kaibigan ko. I stood up and put on a bra before opening my door.

"Good morning, Dani!" bati ni Franko habang papasok sa unit ko. "Get out of here after getting your stuff," I told them.

"'Di mo man lang kami pinaghandaan ng breakfast? Harsh," si William habang sinusuot ang backpack. "Excuse me, ba't ako maghahanda ng breakfast?" a brow of mine raised.

"Sungit," nakangiting saad ni Franko bago kurutin ang pisngi ko. Sinuntok ko siya sa tiyan, natawa naman siya.

Eventually, they did leave me. I got ready for my class and ate the burger kuya Eli bought for me last night as breakfast. Binuksan ko ang phone ko at nakita ang reply ni Graham sa aking message kagabi.

Gray Laurel: it's fine. nakauwi ka naman ba ng maayos?

Gray Laurel: eloise?

Gray Laurel: nasa biyahe ka pa ba o bahay na?

Gray Laurel: sabi ni lara hinatid ka ng kuya mo, akala ko nag-taxi ka, sige, good night

I replied to him to tell him I got home safe kahit na... sinabi naman na ni Lara na hinatid ako ng kapatid ko.

Eloise Madrigal: sorry late, pero i got home safe naman

Then, I sent him a message that made me throw my phone on my bed after. 

This was so not me.

Getting nervous and excited over a message? 'Di ako 'to.

Eloise Madrigal: did u get home safe rin?

Inubos ko na lang ang burger ko at inayos na ang mga gamit na kailangan sa klase bago kunin ang phone. I refused to look if Graham replied or not. I just put it in my bag and went to school.

"Practice tayo ng talent mo mamaya after class? Para sa pageant?" Mari said when he saw me in the classroom.

Hala! I forgot to practice that by myself the past days! Sa Monday na 'yong start ng prelims at wala pa akong nagagawang preparation bukod sa pagpili ng scene!

Dapat hindi na ako uminom kagabi.

"Sige," sagot ko sa kaklase.

Mari, Gwen, and Paula helped me pick a scene from The Wizard of Oz—probably one of its most famous scenes ever—which was when Judy Garland sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Paula had a checkered dress she was willing to lend me for my costume. I have a white top I can use with the dress, so the only thing I needed was to practice.

And, I haven't. I don't even memorize the lyrics!

I opened my phone to look for the lyrics of the song when I saw Graham's message.

Gray Laurel: nakauwi naman ng maayos, nagka-hang over ka? Uminom ka pa uli bago ka umuwi eh

I typed in my response and sent it.

Eloise Madrigal: no naman, nag-shower ako para mahimasmasan bago natulog
