"Red, anak?" She laid beside him and rubbed his back. "Come on. Malelate ka na sa show. Excited pa naman akong makita kang magperform on stage.
"I'm not going to the show."
"Mama! Red broke his guitar!" Rex hysterically announced.
She can only do nothing but to sigh heavily. Red cut all the strings of his guitar.
"Can I tell you something, anak? You know, when you were born and the first time I held you in my arms, I told myself that we will never be apart from each other. Kahit na pumasok ka na sa military. Di ba you told me you wanted to be a soldier? Or even if you'll marry someday, I'll be there for you and with you. I know it's hard to think that Papa keeps on disappointing you, anak. Pero always remember that he loves you. We loves you so much."
Red slowly turned to her with a swollen eyes.
She cupped his face and wiped off his dried tears. "I love you so much, my Red."
"I love you too, Mama." Red embraced her tightly after that.
"Shall we go to the show?"
"But I broke my guitar."
"I tried to fix it pero ayaw." it's Rex.
"Ganito. Come here Rex. I'll buy you the exact same guitar and you and Rex will go with auntie Mina sa show. I promise to bring it there on time."
"Ibibili mo po ako ulit? Really, mama?"
"Of course. Now get up and go get ready!"
She called her sister to come over to her house and told her to bring her children to the show while she buys the guitar.
"Use my car. Magta-taxi na lang ako." she said before leaving. Luckily there was a cab who passed by the road. She told the destination and prayed for heavens to let her get there on time.
"Kuya, mabilis lang talaga ako. May bibilhin lang ako then aalis ako agad. Pakiintay na lang ako please?"
"Sige, Ma'am. No problem po."
"Thank you so much, kuya. Hulog ka ng langit." Just when she got out of the car, a black vehicle came in and took the only available parking space. The taxi couldn't wait in front of the store of course so they will have no choice but to leave.
"What an ass." She hissed and went to tell the driver of the vehicle to leave. She knocked on the window and the driver rolled it down to see her.
"Sir? You parked the car on our spot, can you please move it?"
The driver went out and walked to her. "Excuse me, Ma'am? Pero hindi naman sa inyo itong parking space?"
"We got here first so technically that's ours. Sir nagmamadali ako. I don't have all the time to argue with you because I need to be at my son's show. Please move the car now."
"Ma'am, wala namang nakalagay dito na first come first serve. At isa pa po, may importanteng meeting ang boss ko ngayon. Pag nalate siya, baka masesante ako."
"Sir-"
"What's happening?" they stopped from bantering when a deep voice of a man who just came out from the same vehicle with the driver bombarded the place. He was on the phone but had to drop it when he saw her.
"Your driver indecently took our parking spot just to get you where you want to go without even thinking about other people who might have had more important things to do para lang hindi mo siya sesantihen. But don't blame him. Importante sa akin at sayo ang oras. I'm trying to get to my son's show, so please put the car away. Please?"
