Placing her bag on the table, she closed the lunchboxes of her twins. Then, she took a slice of bread and an apple to commence the day before proceeding directly to the bedroom situated across the kitchen.

"Red! Rex!" She called out upon witnessing their squabble over a pair of socks. "Drop those socks this instant!"

Red Rex

Approaching the cabinet, she retrieved two sets of black socks and handed them to the twins, seizing the blue socks they had been fighting over earlier.

"Ilang beses ko bang sasabihin sa inyo na 'wag kayong mag-aaway?" she exclaimed.

Red gazed up at her apologetically, while Rex simply disregarded her and silently put on his socks. Between the two, Red was the more mature one. He recognized his mistakes and was willing to admit fault, unlike Rex who possessed the opposite inclination. Nevertheless, they were both good-natured and charming kids.

"I'm sorry, Mama," Red apologized.

"It's fine, anak. Just hurry up please? Malelate na si Mama sa work." she reassured him, patting his head. Then, she turned to Rex, who was fidgeting with his hands. He felt remorse just like his brother, but always struggled to admit it.

"And what about you, young man? Aren't you sorry?"

Rex slowly raised his gaze to meet hers. "I'm sorry, Mama," he whispered.

A wide smile spread across her face in response. Rex immediately blushed in embarrassment. He had always expressed his disdain for that particular smile of hers.

"Aysus!" She looked at her twins and beamed even wider. "Can you two give Mama a hug?"If there was something more challenging than being a working mother, it was being a single mother, she pondered. Raising a child alone, let alone twins, was no easy task.

If one added work-related problems and the constant demands of her boss into the mix, it resulted in sleepless nights. She considered herself fortunate if those were the only issues she faced.

"Para lang hindi maapektuhan ang mga bata sa paghihiwalay namin."

Her greatest pain stemmed from her constant interaction with her ex-husband, who had betrayed her. Instead of giving him countless chances, she finally had to let go for the sake of her own sanity.

Being kind to him had been her greatest torment.

She had stopped counting on others and had completely forgotten that she, too, was a woman who needed to be loved. She had believed that such love only existed in movies. You asked if there were any positive aspects of being a single mother? Of course, there were. For instance, she had ample space in her bed for herself, until her twins would inevitably crawl into her room at night and squeeze themselves next to her.

However, she would be deceiving herself if she claimed that being alone was easy when raising children. Yet, after experiencing that particular chapter of her life, which she had yet to fully overcome, she believed that loving again was an impossibility.

"Mr. Razon."

He stopped from his pace and faced the old man who was just sitting across him.
