Hi, everyone! I hope you've all been doing well.
There is 2 weeks of judging left. Of course, if the judges need more time, the judging period will be extended, and I will keep you updated if this happens.
One other thing I wanted to touch on is the reviews. As mentioned before, I will be looking through each of them to assure that the scoring is impartial and fair.
With that being said, that does not mean I will be heavily editing the reviews and changing any of the scores. The only editing I've ever done and will do is to grammar and syntax for better understanding. Aside from that, the reviews you read will come from the judges themselves.
If I see a score and review that may seem biased, I will ask the judge to redo both, but if they feel they cannot remain objective to judge the same book again, I will step in and do so myself.
This particular part of the awards, the judging and criteria, is valued highly in all of my awards. It's the part that I take the most time on because I want all of the participants to have a fair opportunity in each of the categories.
Other awards may and are free to do as they wish, so please don't cause any drama between me and other hosts. How we decide to format the awards is based off how we see fit. I ask that you be patient with us as it is also a learning experience for hosts too. We know you may not agree with everything we choose to do but hope you understand why it may seem necessary.
