Kaz Brekker was going to give Astria Ward a chance of a lifetime, or, at least that's what Jesper Fahey told her as he suprised her by picking her up to next day to walk her to The Crow Club.
He had said something about not being able to trust the residents of Ketterdam, and Astria agreed wholeheartedly. Except, she didn't trust anyone — to an extent.
If she couldn't easily kill you, she most likely didn't trust you.
Jesper had told her repeatedly not to worry about the said interview that would happen in minutes from now, but seeing as Astria was not nervous, it was most likely for his sake than it was for hers.
She didn't mind his ramblings anyway. She found it quite comforting.
After all, he was the first person to truly try to get to know her, despite her not cracking.
They entered The Crow Club, Jesper smiling at the regulars who graced the club with their presence.
Jesper led the two of them up a set of spiral stairs before reaching a door at the end of a long hallway.
She could only assume this was Kaz Brekker's office, the man who'd possibly be giving her a job.
Jesper knocked loudly ( and quite annoyingly on purpose ) , sending Astria a small smile that told her to not worry one bit.
