Zava Pov

I stood in the middle of the empty apartment. The sound of the cars honking and people talking echoed in my ears. I felt a sharp pain in my chest when I realized there was no turning back.

"Yo Zava, where do you want me to put this big ass box?" My older brother's voice knocked me out of my thought. "Um, just put in the hallway, Marques." I tried to push the evil thoughts away. "Hey Zava, are you sure you gonna be okay by yourself?" Marques walked up to me, pushing my hair out of my face. He had a worried look on his face.

"Yeah, I'll be fine. I'm no longer a child. I'm going to college and I'll survive."

"Alright, I'm only a call and a few blocks away. Also, I think it's time to redye your hair. The red is a little faded." Marcus hugged me and left.

In two days I start college Mentally I am not ready It took everything my body to even tell my parents I was moving away I have never been so far from home I'm from right outside of emporia Kansas now I'm in New York I have never been to the big city before and I don't think I'm ready for it.

I let out an enormous sigh while grabbing my phone. I realized I had a text from my elder brother, Andre. I have a pretty extensive family. I have three older siblings who are triplets, plus three more of my older siblings. My sisters are triplets and my brother Marus is a twin. I'm the youngest.

Bighead (Andre): HEYYY! How's New York doing? I'll come to visit when I have the time living in LA is having me busy. Love you. Also, call me when you have the time."

I giggled at the text and rolled my eyes at it. I called him on the phone. It rang a few times before he picked up.

"HEY! If it ain't my fav younger sister, how are you!?." Andre talked on his phone.

"I'm good Andre, me and Marques just got done carrying my boxes out of the moving truck. You just missed him, but next time I see him, I'll tell him to call you." Andre said nothing. Before they moved to college, they go into a big fight and they haven't talked to each other. Andre is Marques's twin.

"How is he Zava? Is he doing good?" I could hear pain and sadness in my brother's voice.

"He's doing good. Maybe you, should you, know, call him." Andre was quiet for a while.

"Yeah, maybe I should. I'll call you back later, Za. be safe. Love you."

Andre hung up before I could say I love you back I wonder what was going on through his head I Placed my phone in my back pocket I was about to start unpacking boxes when I felt my stomach grumble "I should get something to eat before I do anything else." I remember seeing a Mcdonald's not to far from here I start to look around for my car keys I found them on the window I grabbed them and made my way downstairs when I got to the front door I saw Marques sitting on the stairs just staring at his phone "Hey I thought you left?" He looked up me his eyes was teary

"I um did but Andre called me." His voice cracked its been 4 years since they last heard from each other

"Wanna go to Mcdonalds and talk about it." I wave my car keys at him He stands up and grabs them out of my hand "I'm driving tho I don't trust you on the streets of new york." I rolled my eyes and got into the car.

When we got to the McDonald's it wasn't very busy it might be because it was kinda late at night Marques said he would get our food he asked me to find somewhere for us to sit I found a table in the corner there were five other people in there a looked a mom and her kids and I think I wasn't too sure though I pulled out my phone my and started scrolling through Instagram two minutes went by and Marques came back

"not sure if you saw it or not but that couple over there has been staring at you." I looked up from my phone to see the female looking me up and down same thing with the male I could feel my face turning red "N-no I didn't know they were starring at me I covered my face up with my hand and turned my face away from them.

"I wonder why they're looking at you?" Marques hand me my cup
