Chapter 3. The Knight

Start from the beginning

"Y/N... You have been trying way too hard. He said with a worried expression on his face. "Maybe you should take a break or just take a deep breath and try once more, okay?"

"Fine." You said with frustration shown all over your face.

"Y/N my first attempt at magic was all in vain as well." His empathy was clearly shown through whatever mask he looked to be wearing and in his voice as well. "The first time I tried magic was an absolute fail, heh. I lost control of my magic and almost murdered one of my beloved swatchlings'' He said with regret. "You don't need to worry though! I was being a fool. You'll do fine." Swatch said with care. He then proceeded to raise his feathery hands up into two thumbs up and a warm smile.

"Thank you, seriously, I can't express how much I appreciate you." You said.

You took a deep breath. You could feel the energy flowing through your body and into the palm of your hand.

"There you go Y/N! Keep doing that."

It only took about a long 30 seconds of waiting until a spark was formed. Out came beaming light. It formed into a tinted blue spear that was made of pure light. The simple touch of it made your hand feel a comfortable warm.

"Y/N, that is incredible! You did it!" Swatch said while clapping his hands together and his feathers ruffling up with excitement. "You seem exhausted, your eyes look heavy. Perhaps you should get some rest. We can meet up tomorrow for more lessons. We shall see each other again~" Swatch said while winking and waving his hand over to follow him back to your room. He then guided you to your cozy room that you so longed for. After walking for quite a while you couldn't help but notice that Swatch had been very excited to see you. You didn't mind that though. He was quite nice to you. You felt your eyelids become heavy.

"We have arrived to your domain." He said. Swatch opened the door and guided you in.

"Thank you, seriously man."

"Oh, anytime!" Swatch said then smiled.

"Uhm, well, see you tomorrow I guess."

"See you tomorrow."

You waved goodbye to Swatch for the final time of the day. After saying goodbye to Swatch for the day you instantly went to your warm, soft, bed. You face planted into and tugged the sheets at you. You decided that was not a very comfortable position, so you moved fully onto the bed. You soon found yourself falling asleep. I'll just close my eyes for a bit. It doesn't hurt after all. You feel asleep for the rest of the night, if there even is a night or day in the cyber world.

You finally woke up to no sun or light. It was just pure darkness in your room. You did feel a little odd, as if something was possibly going to explode. Suddenly, your door exploded once again. You were correct about this feeling and were too drowsy to even comprehend what happened. Everything was still blurry but it looked like a blue figure was standing at the door. It was possibly Queen but at this point you didn't care.

"Oh, ho, ho, hello dear lightner! It is time for you to try again on your last failing attempt LMAO" Queen said while taking a sip of a green liquid in a wine cup.

Oh, dear not this again. There is no way you're doing this. You don't want to embarrass yourself once again. Screw it, you're doing it anyway.

"Knight, what's taking you so long? We have to get going now."

"Oh, uhm, sorry!"

You started on your way down the long hallway. You took many twists and turns around the corridors of the castle until you finally arrived at the same dark room. Queen then handed you... a butter knife? You didn't want to question why she handed you a butter knife, this was just normal at this point.

"Now, open the fountain with your determination."

You had no determination. You didn't feel anything but embarrassment creeping up your spine. You were probably going to fail but you proceeded anyway. You held the small knife with your hands and took one deep breath. You pierced the ground. Nothing happened. You attempted to pull out the knife, but it did not come out. You tugged at it harder. Nothing budged. You tried once more. It moved so slightly. Suddenly, a little crack of light came out. It was little at first but then it swallowed the whole room. You were shadowed with light and couldn't see. Just when you thought things were going bad you heard a scream. It was loud and it sounded like a middle-aged man. Your instincts told you to run the frick out of there and find whoever or even wherever that scream came from. You bolted out of the room you were in and to the place where you last heard the scream.
