Dear Corey,

I miss you so much! Things here have quieted down and I am leaving soon to come see you guys. I cannot wait to hold you in my arms and get to kiss you. Of course it will be great to see Em and my mom but I don’t know when you have a girl waiting for you it is a totally different feeling.

I am glad you told Emma. I hope it went well. And Alfredo is still my favorite. They sure don’t make it like your mom does here in Iraq. I miss Sunday dinners. Anyways I will get home on the 23rd pick me up at 1:00pm.

Love you,

Tim

------------

Tim will be home tomorrow. I am so so excited. His letters are definitely not enough for me. I get to pick him up and be the only one there. It is now 9:00 at night. I need to find something to do to keep my mind off of him for awhile. I finally decide on a bowl of my favorite mint chocolate chip ice cream and a rerun of some reality series. I couldn’t focus on it though my mind just kept going to Tim. Seeing him. What would it be like? Would he still want me?

---------

I must have drifted off to sleep because I woke up with a crick in my neck and it being 2:00am. I got up off of the couch and my entire body was stiff from the couch. I walked to the bathroom and washed my face and finally got into bed.

---------

I woke up at 10:00 in the morning realizing I only had an hour and a half to be ready to make the long drive to the airport. I got up quickly and went into the bathroom to get into the shower.

After the fastest shower I think I have ever taken I wrapped myself and my hair in a towel and walked to my closed. I couldn’t decide what to wear. I finally decided on a pale blue strapless sundress and my favorite pair of white sandals.

I went to the bathroom and had to decide what to do with my long brown hair. I looked at the clock and it was 10:45. I only had 45 minutes until I had to leave. I finally decided on french-braiding my bangs and straightening the rest. I out a little mascara and eyeliner on and my favorite pale pink lip gloss. I went and put my shoes on. I grabbed my purse, phone, keys and headed for my car. I was thanking the lord that my mom and dad had to work today so neither of them would question where I was going.

---------

I finally arrived at the airport after what seemed like an eternity and found a parking place. I checked my makeup and applied a little more lip gloss. Once I was satisfied with my look I got out of the car and realized that I still had 15 minutes. Perfect timing I thought to myself.

I walk into the waiting terminal. I see on the arrival board that his plane has just touched down. I am so anxious. I feel like I am going to puke. All of these questions just keep running through my mind just like last night.

Finally after what seems like an eternity I see people exiting the plane. All soldiers. All dressed in their camo. All coming home to their families. He is the second to last one off of the plane. I can’t help but stare at him. He is just so gorgeous with those blue eyes and blonde buzz cut. He looks so much more grown up. He looks like a man and not the boy that left a year ago for bootcamp and to think he has actually been in Iraq for 6 months.
