Tawn couldn't help but feel disappointed by this. She was contemplating whether she should run away or face her fears.
She opted for the former and turned as quietly as she could before someone decided to call her out, "Lady Tawn'kiri, how are you?" one of her neighbours asked.
Tawn wanted to bury herself in the sand and burn her body to ashes, which was so embarrassing, "I'm great, thank you," she smiled sarcastically.
Her neighbour, picking up her bite, looked at her with confusion before his mate whisked him away with a glare at her husband and an apologetic look at hers.
"Tawn'kiri?" Zovi called.
Tawn dropped her head and turned to him before raising her head to meet the man, "yes?"
"Can we talk? Preferably inside your marui?" he asked, looking around uncomfortably.
Tawn had a sudden urge to leave him there, letting him feel uncomfortable with eyes staring at him with anger and curiosity, but she couldn't do that; her morals wouldn't let her. She was kind that way. However, nobody said she couldn't enjoy his discomfort.
Tawn thought about it for a few seconds before nodding. She walked inside first and closed the blinds once Zovi walked in.
"Look, I'm sorry about the confession," he said, looking guilty, "I know I should've not confessed like that. Seeing you with someone who could take you away from me made me so angry and jealous."
Tawn looked at him, her mouth agape at what he said, "Okay, here's the thing, Zovi, you don't have the right to be jealous because we don't know anything about each other," Tawn said, pacing back and forth in front of him, "you don't get to see Jake or anyone, in that matter, as a threat, I just met you."
"Yea, but I know you. What I said that day was true. It was all true," he pleaded, "I know your favourite food, I know what time you like to hunt, I know that you have a soft spot for Tsireya, and I know how you are always kind and respectful to others even though you don't like them," he ranted.
"So what? Most of my acquaintances could see that," Tawn shrugged.
"No, they don't, Tawn," he sighed, looking at her pleadingly, "I know you harbour affection towards that man and his family. I notice your longing stare, how your smile disappears whenever you think about him because you know it is wrong for you to let those feelings stay," he said pleadingly, "I know you don't know me but let me help you get to know me better, maybe you can see me as I see you, Tawn'kiri."
Tawn didn't know why, but his words brought forth anger inside of her and without thinking, she raised her hand and slapped him hard; her hand stung because of the impact, "you don't know my feelings, Zovi," she was so angry that all she wanted to do was cry, she hated confrontation so bad, "we don't know each other that well so how could you know what I'm feeling?"
Tawn cried, 'Oh Eywa was this your answer to my question?' she thought to herself, 'does this mean I need to let Jake go?'
Zovi didn't say anything for a moment. His cheek was hurting him so badly he was in pain, but when he saw that she was crying, Zovi forgot all about it, "Tawn, I-"
"Can you leave me alone, please," Tawn whispered, her legs feeling like jelly.
Zovi shook his head, "Tawn, please, give me a chance," he pleaded.
"Zovi, believe me when I say you are in love with your idea of me. You don't know me well enough to feel that way," Tawn said, tears falling down her eyes.
"Okay, so be it. If you said I don't know you well enough, then let me in, let me know you. I won't stop until I have you, Tawn," he said relentlessly, "We are no longer young, Tawn, I want my happiness, and I know that it is with you, so I'm not letting it go."
"Besides, you're trying so hard to let him go, so let me help you with letting him go, and if you realise you don't want to let him go, let me know, and I'll gladly back off," he assured, placing his hand on her shoulder.
Tawn breathed out, "okay." She hoped she was right about this.
Zovi let slip a grin, "Thank you, my love," he smiled, "I will fight for you," he said, winking at her before leaving her alone in her marui.
She fell to the ground. Her body was shaking. She was scared. His words alarmed her. She had a bad feeling about this.
----
Like I told you, sweet and short.
When I wrote this part, I was actually scared of Zovi. He was more menacing in my head, but i don't know if I conveyed that correctly in my writing. Nonetheless, here's a little sneak peek of Zovi's feelings towards Tawn but don't worry, he's not going to be a bad guy or anything, daddy Miles Quaritch is the bad guy in this story, like usual. i really hope James Cameron do something different with his character cause he got a lot of potential.
Steven's universe songs always slap hard, I was crying to "Drift away" and "It's over, isn't it", they just hit differently. Oh and I just found out that Marcelline, the vampire queen, sang Mitski's Francis Forever in one of adventure times episodes, it was really a new discovery for me but i should've known since her character screams mitski so much.
anyways hope you love this little filler,
see ya.
