Calliope's P.O.V.
"Angel!" I hear my parents call me. Ugh, what do they want? I just want the have some peace and quiet these are my last weeks here and they are irritating me the whole time. But it looks like my parents don't give a shit about my feelings. "Yeah?" I call back. But of course, they don't answer. I go downstairs and see some boy that I don't know with them.
"What is it?" I ask them. "We think Lukas would be a good match for you. He is really smart and we know his parents very well." my mom says. What! They can't be serious. We are going to move in 2 weeks, and they think it would be smart to get me a bf right now. "Uhm, I don't think so we are moving to the USA. So it won't be smart the get in a relationship right now." I say. "Yeah, we know but we thought that if you two get together he can come with us?" my dad answers. I should really tell my parents that I'm a lesbian but I'm scared that they will kick me out. "It's not going to happen, I'm not going into a relationship with someone that I just know," I say and walk back upstairs to call my best friend.
'Can I call you?' I sent it to Julie, my best friend. 'Yep 👍' she sends back. I call her and she immediately picks up. "What's wrong?" she asks. "My parents tried to set me up with some random dude. And I don't even know why. They just literally straight up said 'We think he is a good match and we really want you to be together.' like who does that." I say. She stays quiet for some time until she asks to FaceTime, so I accept. "What!!" she screams down the phone. "Yo, I don't need to be deaf you know," I say while laughing at her shocked face. "So, you still didn't tell them?" she says with a sad face. Yeah, she knows. She is the first one I told, well actually she figured it out by herself. "Yeah, I am just too scared of their reaction. You know?" I tell her. "That's normal I was too when I told my parents I'm bi. But if you don't tell them they are gonna keep setting you up with boys." I know she is right but I just can't. "Calliope, come downstairs right now!" I hear my mom yell. "I'm sorry Julie but I need to go," I say while already hovering my thumb over the end button. "Okay, bye Cal." "Byeee!".
I go downstairs and see my dad's angry face. Shit, this won't be good. "Why, did you ran away like that?" my mom asks. "Because I don't like that you think you can choose my lover," I answer with some attitude. "Don't give me that attitude young lady," he says while standing up and marching up to me. "James! Sit down, let her speak without getting angry." my mom calms him down. "Thank you, mom. Like I said I don't like it when you set me up with someone. Love needs to come freely and doesn't need to be forced. So please stop forcing it." I try to reason with my father. "Okay, but if you don't have a boyfriend after your eighteenth birthday we will start again with setting you up. Deal?" he fights back. "Fine, but I can go on dates with anyone and they don't need to be approved by you before I let you meet them." I try to give myself some freedom in how I want to date. "Sure, everyone happy now?" my mom says ending the argument by giving us both what we want.
"Now what does everyone want for dinner?" my mom asks. "Pizza!" my dad and I shout at the same time. "Well, that settles it. I will ask the chef to make some pizza." my mom says while laughing because of our antics. "What are you laughing at Dione?" my dad asks with a confused face. "It's that you are more alike than I thought." my mom says while trying to stop laughing. I decided to go upstairs before dinner to search for a school to go to in America. I know that we got some schools there but I think I don't want to go there because it would be very weird. I have been looking for half an hour and got stuck on two schools Northwood High School and Troy High School. One of them is owned by the family Emanus, I know my parents don't really like them but it's still my choice. The other one is just a random one that looks pretty good.
I'm gonna ask my parents for help. I walk downstairs and catch my parents making out. "Oh come on!" I yell to startle them. "Can't you do that in your room, so your daughter doesn't walk in on you?" I say to try and get them to see their fault, but of course, they just laugh at me. "I'm sorry Angel. We thought you were gonna stay upstairs some more." my mom tries to reason. "Okay, but next time go somewhere I would never walk in without knocking on the door." they nod at that.
