Nyla gently fiddled with a pen, twirling it around her finger as she listened to the professor. She noticed movement in the corner of her eye, and mainly noticed long black blue hair and a typical varsity jacket flow up for a split second before the sound of the more friendly jocks yell enthusiastically about an upcoming game.

The loud yelling made Nyla wince to an extent, even if it was meant to be positive. She mainly noticed the female student shushing the guys slightly, recognizing her as one of the scarier girls there that had some unfortunate rumors spread. In Nyla's eyes, she was way prettier than she was described, though. She looked back to the whiteboard, taking notes and doing small doodles on the side of the page.

Soon enough, her classes for half the day were over, and she went to the sandwich store to meet up with Evan, making a mental note of not having any assignments for the time being. She hummed softly, keeping to herself until she saw Evan.
"Hey Evan.." she said in a quiet yet happy tone.
"Rose, good to see you made it here safely, I haven't ordered anything food wise yet, if you want something."
"Ooh, uhm.." She looked up at the menu, staring for a few seconds before softly mumbling what she wanted.  Evan sighed gently, "Rose, you'll have to speak up." She took a breath to calm her nerves, repeating what she said and Evan nodded, letting her choose where they'd be sitting so she could relax more.

They got the sandwiches and Nyla kicked her feet lightly under the table, careful to keep from accidentally hitting Evan or the table. They discussed how her first few classes went and Nyla beamed, "I saw the student that people were scared of in my first class. They don't seem that scary, though their eyes are kinda freaky if you're not expecting it."
"Is it the same person who got into that public fight last year?"
"Maybe? Black-blue hair, bright red eyes?"

Evan's expression visibly changed, more of concern but they let it go for the time being. "Sounds about right with their outer appearance but I can't say much considering how I appear at times."
She laughed a little, "Yeah, but I was literally raised by you, I may be oblivious but yknow..I can still read your face and tone to an extent.." She paused, her eyes widening slightly, "Oh! Did you remember the chocolate and stuff?"
"Yes, they're in the shopping bag, here you go." They handed her the reuseable shopping bag so she could get the chocolate and other stuff she asked for that she needed at the time, the sound of hyper giggling being muffled through the fabric of her scarf.

They quietly watched, thankful she was in a good mood as it was common for her to be more upset inbetween her classes. She started eating some of the chocolate mints, checking her phone in the meantime. With her mouth partially full, she almost said something before covering her mouth and waving her arms softly as an apology, finishing the mints, "I need to get back to class-"
"Do you want me to walk you over there or just meet you after your classes over?" Evan asked as they stood up, done with the food for the time being.
"Just meet me after my classes are done, bye dad!" She got up with a bright smile before heading to class before there was a risk of being late, being careful as to not bump into anything or anyone to prevent problems.

After her classes were over, she noticed the student she and Evan talked about, apprehensive about talking to them but wanting to get to know them better. She was mostly frozen in place before they looked in her direction and made eye contact, making Nyla blush and apologize loud enough for them to hear her before bolting off, partially hiding her face in her scarf while internally panicking the way to Evan.
