Al Haitham's POV

ring ring

i sigh as i reach for my phone, knowing exactly who's calling.

"yes, kaveh?"

"i've been waiting for you to get home for, like, two hours! where are you?! i need you to get home because.." blah blah blah. he's always complaining.

"kaveh, i had to pick up an extra shift because my co-worker called in sick. and i have no idea why you're complaining because as long as you do the chores, you don't have to pay for shit." if you ask me, it's one hell of a deal to live rent free at someone's house. especially when all you have to do is chores.

"i wouldn't have been so mad if i, you know, wasn't locked out of the house!"

"oh."

"don't oh me! get your ass back to the house!"

god, i hate how much he yells. would it kill him to calm down?

i sigh as I begin to speak again. "i'll leave in just a minute. i'll tell my boss i have to go." i stand up and make my way to the door. "i'll see you soon, kaveh."

"i better. and you sure as hell shouldn't have have lost my key!"

i don't answer him as i hang up and walk out the door. kaveh is so infuriating sometimes. why did i agree to share a house with him?

Kaveh's POV

i pace back and forth outside of the door waiting for him. god, why does he always do this! he leaves for work without forgetting to take my key off his keychain!

as soon as i see his tall figure walking up, i run over to him.

"oh my god, finally!" i whine as i grab the keys from his hand. "i was waiting for so long!"

"yeah, yeah. just open the door."

as he walks past me he places a hand on my back, pushing me forward to unlock the door. his touch sent a shiver down my spine and i turn around and glare at him before unlocking the door.

suddenly, i remembered something cyno mentioned.

"haitham, cyno mentioned he was going to have a party at his and tighnari's place with everyone. he messaged asking is you and i wanted to go."

he answers without sparing me a glance, "yeah, sure. who will all be there?"

a bit annoyed by the fact he didn't look at me while talking, i answered in an irritated tone. "i'm pretty sure ayaka, yoimiya, hu tao, xiao, aether, childe, and zhongli are going. probably more, but i don't know."

he nods his head as he turns to face me. "what time does it start?"

"it starts in about two hours. we'll probably need to be there about 15 minutes early to help set up though."

"alright. i'm gonna be in my room if you need anything before we leave." he turns around and makes his way back to his room.
