^{Grumpy Gator}^

Ch. 5:

Monty watched the bear leave, he never understood how Freddy could be so kind and intimidating at the same time.
He looked down at me, I still had tear stains on my face from crying earlier. Monty moved me so I was laying on the couch, and sat down on the ground beside me.

He carefully brushed the hair out of my eyes, and trailed his claw down my face. He smiled to himself before resting his chin on my stomach/chest, and his sat his arms on the couch cushion to prop himself up. He closed his eyes, and powered off for the night.

— Time Skip: Morning - 5:30 AM —

I opened my eyes, stretching a bit before I realized where I was. I looked around, how'd I get in here?
I looked down to see Monty, he was asleep, his head on my stomach. I smiled, he was adorable when he slept.

I leaned forward and kissed the tip of his nose, apparently alligators noses are more sensitive than a human fingertip. I was testing that theory.

Monty's eyes shot open, "What was that?" He lifted his head, tilting it slightly at me. He put a hand to his nose.

I chuckled, "So it is true."

"What is?"

"An alligators nose is more sensitive than a human fingertip."

"Oh." He layed his head back down.

I sat up, "Monty, the doors open in a few hours, you have to get ready for showtime."

"I don't want to, not right now." He grumbled like a child when they don't get a cookie.

"Montgomery, don't gimme that attitude." I crossed my arms, "I need to get up."

Monty moved forward, he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into him. He rested his face in the crook of my neck. My eyes widened, and I became flustered. I could feel his breathing on my neck, it tickled.

"Monty I swear- stop acting like a child so I can't get up!" I frowned.

"I don't wanna." Monty groaned and just continued to hold me close to him.

I sighed and shook my head, realizing that trying to get him to let me go was no use. I decided to just go with the flow, the usual grumpy and aggressive gator was very sweet and affectionate. It was kind of cute.
