Kiri sighed loudly, "Of course he does."

Tawn rolled her eyes at Kiri and said, "You do realise you can't help who you fall for, right?"

Kiri looked at her incredulously, "Yea?"

Tawn nodded, "Eywa likes to play a cruel game occasionally. She let you feel for someone that you shouldn't feel for," Tawn said, softly patting the ilu in her arms. Tawn shook her head to get rid of her thoughts. No, she promised herself that she would not let her feelings for Jake stay.

The three of them continued in silence. Tawn didn't mean to lower everyone's mood. When they were done, the night was almost upon them. The three of them walked back to the shore, engaging in small talks to lift the mood.

When it was time for the three of them to part ways, Tawn said goodbye to the two of them. she promised to meet with Lei'la again and then walked towards the opposite direction as Kiri to her marui.

"Tawn?" Kiri called behind her.

The woman turned, "yes?"

Kiri looked away from her, trying to hide her emotions, "Thank you for today," she said with a small smile.

A smile crept up Tawn's face, "you're welcome, Kiri."

Kiri nodded, gave Tawn a warm smile, and said, "see you tomorrow," she called, running back towards her family marui.

Tawn watched her with a wide grin on her face. She shook her head at the girl's enthusiasm and returned to her marui. That should mean that Kiri forgave her for that incident, right? Yes, she shouldn't overthink it and enjoy her time with her siblings.

The sound of bells and yelling brought her back to reality. Tawn was busy crafting a woven top for herself. She felt like she deserved it.

Tawn shot up and walked out, she walked towards the commotion and saw Ronal's family and Jake's looking around frantically. Tsireya was pacing behind her father, her arms crossed in front of her defensively.

Tawn ran towards her, putting her hands on her shoulders and asked, "what happened, Tsireya?"

Tsireya looked up at her aunt, her eyes glassy with unshed tears, "it's Lo'ak, Aonung brought him over the reef, and he hasn't come back yet," Tsireya cried, burying her face in Tawn's stomach.

Tawn's eyes scanned the crowd hurriedly until she found what she was looking for. Jake was pacing back and forth, running his hand through his locks, his eyebrows scrunched hard, and a frown sat on his lips. She couldn't imagine the worry and agony he had gone through right now.

Tawn looked away from him. Her heart and mind were at war, and she didn't want to succumb to her heart because if she did, she'd be there beside him.

"It's okay, and I'm sure he's fine." Tawn shushed her niece.

Tawn then remembered the akula she encountered with Neteyam.

An image of Lo'ak being chased by one terrified her to her core.

"Reya, I need to talk to your father. Okay, I'll be with you soon," Tawn said, cupping Tsireya's face, trying to get her to calm down.

When Tsireya nodded, she hurriedly walked towards Tonowari, "Wari! I encountered an Akula at the edge of the reef," Tawn explained.

Tonowari and Ronal looked at her with wide eyes and at their eldest son, "you left him with an akula roaming around the reef?" Ronal's voice boomed.

Tawn glared at a frightened Aonung, "I didn't know, mother, father, I have no idea that would happen," he pleaded. Tawn watched Aonung's face turn into a horrified one. If the akula harmed or even killed Lo'ak, he'd be named a murderer.
