Hermione paced back and forth in her cozy office at the Ministry of Magic, her mind racing with thoughts of the deadly disease that was spreading among magical creatures. She knew that she needed to find a solution, and fast - but so far, nothing seemed to be working.

She thought back to the countless hours she had spent researching and experimenting spells and potions. She had poured her heart and soul into finding a cure, but every attempt had ended in failure.

Hermione felt a sense of desperation, her mind drifted to the more radical solutions she had considered - ones that were risky and potentially dangerous. She knew that some of her colleagues at the Department of Magical Creatures would balk at the idea, but she couldn't let that stop her. She was willing to do whatever it took to find a cure, even if it meant breaking a few rules along the way.

Through Merlin's luck, she recall Harry talking about an extensive library with rare books, manuscripts, and potion masters' journals. However, that library was located inside Malfoy Manor! With a sense of determination burning within her, she set out reach out to her former childhood rival. She knew that she needed to put aside her pride and seek out any help that she could find.

Hermione realized the best strategy for a positive outcome would be to talk with Malfoy in person and try to pull at his heartstrings or at least use Harry's influence to get him to cooperate. So she called her secretary Austie, a former Slytherin student, to her office to schedule an appointment between her and Malfoy for the next day.

Draco Malfoy was enjoying afternoon tea alone in his office when a great horned owl, typically used by the Ministry of Magic, dropped a letter on his desk. The official-looking letter sat unopened on his desk, taunting him with its crisp ivory envelope and formal seal. He knew that he needed to read it. It was, after all, an important document that could have significant consequences for his life.

But he couldn't help but feel a sense of dread and anxiety as he gazed at the envelope. What if it contained terrible news? What if he had made a mistake that could cost him everything he had worked so hard for?

He tried to push the thoughts from his mind, but they gnawed at him like a persistent ache. He knew he needed to open the envelope and read the contents, but fearing what he might find was almost too much to bear.

With a deep breath, he reached for the envelope and turned it around to see the remittance. He couldn't believe his luck when he picked up the envelope and read her name. The message from his former classmate, Hermione Granger, the one he had always found attractive but never dared to approach due to his old prejudices. He knew she was out of his league - beautiful, intelligent, and confident - while he was just an ex-death eater trying to mend his family name. Draco had followed her career progression by reading the Prophet, and the return address corroborated that Hermione Granger was the Director of the Department of Magical Creatures.

But as Draco read her message, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement and nerves. There was urgency in the words; she wanted to meet tomorrow in an official capacity. Was this finally his chance to get to know her better, to see if there was something more than just a passing attraction?
