Rey's pov-

I was near my locker when I heard the astonishing news, my long-term crush Annabeth Chase was back in school?! She went away for almost 9 months due to some " family problem". Today I decided to finally confess to her, we've been friends since last year! She is the most smartest and beautiful and kind and strong person! I still remember the day I met her. Her piercing gray eyes calculating everything around her. She saved me from that jerk Micheal. Soo many guys try to hit on her every day and all of them go home with either a black eye or a sprained ankle or both. As I was lost in my thoughts I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder 

"Rey, did you hear that Annabeth is back?" Hope my twin said with concern in her eyes

"Are you going to do it today?" She asks, she is aware of my crush on her. She tried setting me up but Annabeth used the classic excuse ' I have a boyfriend'. I know this wasn't true, Hope never said my name though so I am positive she will say yes. 

As we were walking to our homeroom Hope said with excitement " You know a new kid just got enrolled and he looks like a literal Greek God. You ask Annabeth out and after I date him we 4 can go on a double date. I've heard his name is Percy or something" I laughed nervously Silly hope I thought

During lunch, we sat with Annabeth and another guy who looked like a greek god. He will make Micheal jealous. He was 6'2 and had toned muscles. Girls kept looking at him they were so much in lust. 

"Hey guys" Annabeth greeted us "This is Percy he's my friend from camp"

"Hi," Percy said. Percy could be that jerk popular guy but he seemed sweet. He was wearing a Blue hoodie with Nemo on it and some blue jeans. Hope started flirting with him instantly and Annabeth looked - annoyed. Percy kept saying he had a girlfriend but Hope still had Hope.

"HEY ! BACK OFF!" I screamed. I went there and broke them off 

" Dude that was mean," Percy said

" You are a creep you just met Annabeth this summer"

" I said friend from camp I didn't specify when we met," Annabeth said rolling her eyes.

" Yeah we know each other since we were 12 and we've been dating since we were 16," Percy said

As soon as Percy said that Hope went running away bawling her eyes out.

" Remember I said I had a boyfriend? that's him" Annabeth said calmly.

"Well, wise girl we are getting late. Grover and thalia will be arriving soon we need to go"

" Bye Rey I'll meet you next week" Annabeth bid me a goodbye

I stood there in shock and dismay as Percy and Annabeth left in a red Prius
