Getting Employed

Joey Wheeler's P.O.V

I lay back on a building holding a piece of bread I stole from bakery, which I did without being seen and I eat the bread slowly. Why did my life come to this? Oh right, got fired from my last job and lost everything but the things that make me a duelist. I sigh and begin eating the bread not liking that its all I got for the moment for some food. I finish the bread and get up. "Alright Joey. Time to look for a job. Again." I start walking around town, going to store to store looking for employment and I land with nothing. Just, no job, again. I'm disappointed as always and I go back to my little area that I made as a home and I sat down sighing. I pull out my deck of cards and look thro it staying quiet and remembering the good times then at the duel disk. I pick it up and take a good look at it "Maybe I can- no. This is the one thing that makes me me. And I wont ever give this up. No matter how bad I'm living" I push it to the side added with my deck to the side and wrap myself in my jacket to attempt to sleep

Seto Kaiba's P.O.V

Why is this my life right now? I ask myself this as Mokuba is dragging my around town, without our car. "Where are we going exactly Mokuba?" I ask him "We're looking for new employees remember big brother?" he says and I stop "Why? We're fine with the people we got. We don't need anymore people" I say crossing my arms looking in the an alleyway that's next to me. I could hear Mokuba say something but I walk into the alleyway seeing something, ignoring him completely. I bend down hearing him run to me "Hay! I'm talking to-" I make him stop talking. I look to the side to see a duel disk and a deck. "What is all this doing here?" I pick them up to see they're in good condition and start getting up till my hand is stopped. I take it back looking to see Joey Wheeler. "My stuff Kaiba" He said as he got up. I look at him seeing he's a damn mess. Torn cloths, messy hair, even dirt which tells me he hasn't showered in a while "What are you doing here Wheeler?!" I ask both annoyed and stunned to see him here "What does it look like Kaiba? That I'm just staying here for the fun of it?" He said as I look at him. I look away from him not wanting to even be in the same place as him and yet here we are, in a damn alley together.

Joey Wheeler's P.O.V

I put my duel disk on before Kaiba couldn't take it from me again and I just glare at him very pissed off to even see him in the same spot as me. I look at Mokuba and I chuckle "Hay there Mokuba. Geeze you've hit a growth spirt since the last time I've seen ya" I say not minding the fact that he's here. He chuckles "I have Joey. I'm close to your height, even Seto's height" he said with confidents. I see Kaiba chuckle "I wouldn't say that Mokuba. You're still pretty small to me" I chuckle at his comment but immediately stop and look away turning a bit pink. Did I seriously just chuckle at that?! I shouldn't chuckle at anything that Seto Kaiba says! I look back at him "Why you here Wheeler? That apartment finally had enough of your nonsense and kick you to the streets like a defenseless puppy?" He said and I looked away feeling ashamed that he's basically right "Yea, basically" I grow silent seeing them wanting me to explain myself but I just stand there, not wanting to explain any bit of my situation to Kaiba cause I know I'll be made fun of for it. So why should I explain myself? But at the same time, maybe he can help me

Seto Kaiba's P.O.V

I stand there surprised that he actually agreed with my statement. It's just an insult, not a real thing I wanted for the man. Wait, what did I just think?! Joey fing Wheeler isn't my damn friend! He's nothing but a dog that needs a master to obey! I stand there looking at him. "Um Well we should be get go-" I get interrupted by Mokuba as he pulls me to the side "Seto- Why not hire him?" he said looking full of joy. I step back "No wat! I'm not hiring him!" I say out of frustration. I turn my head away to avoid looking at him. Why do I want him around the place? Maybe It's me wanting to boss him around or maybe- I grit my teeth and look at Joey "I got a janitor position. It's yours if you want it Joey" I see his stunned look but I just stand there gripping my arms "Yes or no Joey" "Your, not calling me Wheeler. Your calling me Joey" I fluster up "I'm- I'm only doing it for my bother's sake" I say out of embarrassment then I hear him chuckle "Sure ya did Kaiba. Sure ya did" I look at him "Just answer the damn question Wheeler" I say demanding an answer to get away from the conversation fast

Joey Wheeler's P.O.V

Wow, he actually called me by my first name, not by my last name. Is this him changing his ways? No, there's no way that Seto Kaiba is changing cause of me. I look at my duel disk and deck then at Kaiba and Mokuba "If I agree, I'll get an apartment and I won't be harassed by you or anyone else Kaiba" He looks at me like I just slapped him "Oh your asking way to much Whee-" Kaiba gets interrupted by Mokuba by getting hit in the arm "Ok Joey. We can help you get an apartment near Kaiba Corp so you can come to work on time and you don't have to worry about being late. I promise" Mokuba saying and I smile softly "Then alright then. I'll take y'all up on that offer" I pick up my stuff and I walk off to Kaiba Corp hearing them walk behind me. Maybe this is a new start for me.
