Espresso looked at you with a blunt look while you just looked at him with a shock look in return "What do you mean... You've known that Dark Enchantress will snare us all like predators hunting preys down?" You asked as he looked at the floor for a  moment so did you, as you felt guilt surround you since he was your friend! Bestest of friends! You couldn't betray him like this... Even if he was the undercover traitor all along this time... From the very start... The beginning... Although, he just smiled, smiled so softly... The fact he looked so innocent like nothing had ever come out of your mouth, but he heard it alright

"What do you mean, dear Y/n?" He asked innocently as you couldn't handle it anymore, you then pumped your fist as you angrily looked at him which made his smile fade away. "What do I mean?! You are the traitor! The traitor that has been with us all along! I knew we shouldn't have trusted you from the day we've first seen you..." You said, almost lowering your voice at the end of your sentence, Espresso knew that it was hurting him that the fact you were being shattered by such betrayal. But yet does he have a choice? Maybe not... You then just stared at him which he did the same as you and him stared at each other as you felt bad since you just lost a friend... Not by dying... But by betrayal...

"If I betray you... I betray myself..." You said with pure guilt, combining within your voice which he listened

"If I betray him... I betray my goal..." He was utterly in disgust once you mentioned your boyfriend and soon-to-be husband... Madeleine Cookie

"My goal is very dear to me..." "Dearer than I?" Espresso asked as you were surprised but yet shook your head out of the ordinary... How strange...

"No... No, not dearer than you" you replied as he chuckles and smiles as he walks over you, with that sweet smile

"Will you help me defeat them?" He said as he lend his hand towards you, you got confused "Help you... Defeat them?" You asked as he chuckles once again and said "By telling me their plans, that's the only way I can hope to defeat them!" He said... You just looked down in confusion and guilt

"We can't both win, you see, Y/n?" Espresso smiled as you looked at the hand Infront of you

"I'm... Beginning to see..." "Then you will help me?" You stayed silent for seconds but replied anyways "By giving you any information I may possess, concerning our plans?" "Yes" he said with that stupid, innocent smile again

"Heh..." Espresso looked at you with confusion, still his hand Infront of you "you're very clever, aren't you?" You then slapped him hand away from yours as he hissed at the pain upon his hand "oh, I can read you like a book now..." You smiled smugly as he bluntly looks at you "You thought I was young and easily swayed... That you can make me love you!" You exclaimed at him which made him utterly become disappointed

"And I would throw over my goal, my duty... For you!" "That's not the way to look at it, Y/n" "You weren't so wise after all! Because you've lost! You hear me? LOST!!! You guessed wrong in our little duel of wits!... You forgot how close hate is to love" you yelled out

"You don't know what you're saying, Y/n" he said, surprisingly, concern upon his voice as you yelled out "YOU NEVER LOVED ME! You knew that I loved you AND YOU USED THAT!" "Y/n, stop talking like a child! We're playing for goals now!" He yelled back "yes we are, aren't we?" You two stayed in loud silence as you and him looked at each other with hate yet his eyes were combined with hate and pure love... You just don't know what that man sees in you, just what did he really see in you?

Your phone then ringed as you picked it up "hello?" You said "heya Y/n! I was wondering if you would like a stroll with your knight and shining armor!" Madeleine sarcastically said the nickname as Espresso groaned in disgust and hatred when he heard his own frenemy over the phone "oh sure" you said as Madeleine hanged up, you then walked out but before you could... You heard Espresso mutter something, it was clear as day when you heard it

"Someday... Your heart will be after me instead of his"

He walked out but you didn't believe that... And that will never happen!... Right?
