Deception Chapt.1

In this small house with white walls we live happily and contented. The table is laid with a simple chocolate cake and a candle.

"Happy birthday dear!" mom said.

"Hah, you're getting older sis, happy birthday!" my younger brother Alec followed.

"Oh thank you! I am so greatful to have a mother and brother like you!"

"Sheesh sis, by the way, what do you want now that you've turned 16?"

"Yes, Alec's right. What do you want sweetheart?"

Well, I want to help my family financially so I want to get a job with a good pay. And maybe you are wondering where my father is, when he's supposed to be the one who earns for our living. Sadly, he left us when I was still 10 years old and Alec was 8. I really can't forgive him to what he has done to my mom. Even if its just an accident, still no.

"Well mom, for now I wanted to find a job to help you get a better income."

"But Eliza..."

"No mom, it's okay. I'll browse the internet for applicable jobs for me. I'll prove to dad that we can still survive even if he left us."

We are not THAT poor, but I want my mother to relax just for a bit. Alec, at his early age learned to take care of himself and as his big sis, I wanted to say that I am proud of him.

"Eliza, please, don't open that up -"

Blood rushes to my head.

"Mom! Can't you see? You are having a hard time finding a permanent job because of Gerard! Those scars haven't left you and will never leave you! Whenever I see those scars of yours I remember what dad has done to you! "

"ELIZA! SHUT UP! RESPECT YOUR FATHER!" mom exclaimed.

I was so startled that I can't think directly. I need to calm down now.

"I-I'm sorry mom, I'd better go to my room now, I still have school tomorrow. And by the way, thanks for the food and greetings."

I ran to my room and locked the door. I opened my computer and searched for available jobs online but instead I found something else...

Without a doubt, I signed my name. Not thinking of the consequenses, as long as it will help us for our living, I'll go for it.

Someone knocked at my window ... "Hey what are you browsing at?".

My heart leaped. "Gosh, you surprised me Raphael!"

"Haha, I'm so sorry. I'd better get going, just passing by. I might disturb you." I felt sadness in his tone.

"No, wait!" I walked to the window.

"Hm?"

"About the thing you asked awhile ago, well, I've found an advertisement saying Wallace will be having a giveaway and I wanted to ask if - "

"OH! That!" he exclaimed. "Yeah I also joined in there and recieved a mail saying 'Thank you for registering! blah, blah, blah...' and guess what? "

"I got the 1st slot!"

"Ha! Lucky you!"

"Of course I am lucky, " He said, as he held my face. "I have you."

I felt his lips against mine and as I close my eyes, the image of my dad visited my mind. I felt nervous and pushed him away from me. Gosh, what have I done?

"Uh...Sorry. I-I will just check my email."

I knew Raphael since we were little. I treat him as my big bro since he is a year older than me.We used to play hide and seek and tag. My parents know him well and he's really close to my father. Gerard treats Raphael as his own son, they mostly spend time together talking about boy stuff. He also says that Raphael and I will make a good couple though, I love him as my brother.
