Chapter 6: A Normal Day at the Beach...well, Sort Of

Start from the beginning

Renko: "I bet she just wants to skip setting up the tent..."

Satori: "Shall we get started?" Satori hadn't gone yet and silently stood by my side up until now, offering her help since she could probably tell it was a hard thing to do

Before i could respond or begin building though, my phone vibrated indicating i was getting a call to which i pulled it out of my pocket and looked at the name

Y/N: "Oh, it's Logan..." I turned to the other two with a finger over the button to answer the call "I have to answer, mind starting without me?"

Renko: "Leave it to us!" Cheerfully said the brown haired girl with a thumbs up, Satori following up with a nod to agree

With their permission i walked away and answered the call, bringing the phone to my ear to hear what he had to say

Y/N: "What is it?"

Logan: "Hey! Jane and i wanted to call while we had time to see what you were up to" Spoke Logan with his usual tone

Jane: "He wanted to, you know he can't focus on class" Jane's voice came from the phone presumably at his side

Y/N: "Oh Jane's there? Well, i've just been spending my time with my sisters...let me guess, you're again with Mason?" Since a while ago both Jane and Logan had been called in to school after class to review some things in class with Mr Mason, i had been called too but i've simply decided not to go as i was sure he'd understand with these three girls

Logan: "You guessed right...he has been making weird questions between our studies though, so i thought i should tell you" That part caught my attention making me listen intently to their words "He's never cared about history before, but now he's been asking us rhetorical questions of some creatures and such..."

Jane: "You're horrible explaining, give me that..." I heard the phone being snatched from his hand already knowing it was Jane's doing, letting her speak for him "He's been speaking about magic and asking about types of youkai, surely you remember he never cared for that stuff"

Y/N: "He said those are just myths yeah...how strange" The sound of a door creaking open came from the other side of the line, letting me know someone entered the room

Logan: "Gotta go! Mason's here, we can speak of this later!" Not letting me speak further, the call ended there leaving me with the doubt of what those questions could mean

Y/N: "Asking questions about youkai and magic...he never asked us of that, not even out of curiosity..."

Yukari: "What strange thing to hear, is it not?"

Yukari's voice filled the air as one of her gaps opened at my side, peeking her upper body through it with her parasol over her head

Y/N: "Yukari?"

Yukari: "I see you've made new friends, those two will come in handy to solve your magic problems" Said Yukari pointing her fan at Renko who was focused on building the tent...which then collapsed over her

Y/N: "You mean Renko and Maribel? They are good friends, the more the merrier after all"

Yukari: "However, they wont be enough to help you"

Another gap suddenly opened over me, making a familiar girl fall from it and over me which made us both fall to the floor, only damage done with me being the cushion to soften her fall...

Yukari: "...so i brought in some extra help~" The girl stood up from over me and held her head in pain, speaking with an irritated tone

Reimu: "I have been falling...for thirty minutes!" The one that fell was none other than the Shrine Maiden that nearly killed me the first and only time we met, but i could tell she was less against me this time around

Yukari: "This here is a top notch incident solver, you couldn't count how many times she's fixed those even with all your fingers, so i thought of convincing her to come give you some of her help~"

Reimu: "If dragging and forcefully changing my clothes into this was your take on convincing people i don't want to know how your take of forcing is..." Just as she explained, unlike the time we met Reimu was wearing a colorful swimsuit and had some shades hanging on her head

Yukari: "Don't be like that, you do owe him for almost killing him" Reimu clicked her tongue knowing she was right, i didn't need anything in exchange as i had already forgiven her though but some help figuring out who this person was would come in handy

Reimu: "Alright fine...but i'll only help you until you find out who the culprit is, defeating them is entirely up to you, got that?" Accepting to help partially, the maiden took grip of my arm and lifted me up to stand on my feet again

Y/N: "I mean...sure thing, but we'll have to discuss what we have later, for today we just want to enjoy the day"

I pointed at the beach where Maribel, Kokoro and Koishi splashed water onto each other while Satori and Renko were figuring out how to build the tent, surprisingly Satori had way more progress than Renko did as what Renko had built only fell on her head again, earning a giggle from Satori

Reimu: "I'm already dressed for the occasion...sure, why not, but i'm getting you back from this hag!" Exclaimed angrily the Shrine Maiden glaring at Yukari

Yukari: "I look forward to that. Until we meet again, i bid you farewell, toodles~" With that, Yukari vanished into the gap and closed it leaving us to talk amongst ourselves

Reimu: "...so what are we meant to do now?"

Renko: "Hey Y/N! Finished the call-? Who's that?" Renko and Satori walked up to us once they noticed i was available again, looking at Reimu with wonder while Satori kept herself from saying anything

Y/N: "Oh, uh...she's..."

Reimu: "Reimu Hakurei, a childhood friend that so happened to see you all here" She immediately thought up something to give as an excuse, not stuttering through her words

Y/N: She's good...she really thought of everything

Reimu: "-And one who declared her love years ago and is still waiting an answer" She added with a serious gaze, making her best to not appear to be joking

Renko & Satori: "HAH!?"

I quickly took hold of her shoulders and turned her around, whispering close so the others wouldn't hear us

Y/N: "Too much, you had them in the first half, should've left it there!"

Reimu: "Oh, Yukari told me to say that to get their trust...i should've thought it over"

Suddenly we heard an extremely loud water splash coming from the location of Koishi and the others, where we saw her lifting a guitar over her head

Koishi: "And now, my strongest spell yet! I shall call upon these accursed waters and bring you down with my song to control the tides!" She exclaimed with a voice of excitement as the other two looked intently

Kokoro: "So that really is how you play instruments..."

Maribel: "N-no, that's not-"

But it was too late to give a reply as Koishi swung the guitar down onto the water with a jump, lifting a massive wave that fell over Kokoro and Maribel making them be swallowed by the water that Koishi managed to lift

Renko: "Your sister's crazy strong Y/N, what do you feed her?" Asked jokingly Renko with a surprised look, all while Satori stared with embarrassment

Y/N: "Shrimps, when she's...not being chased by a g- vacuum" I replied with honesty, seeing how Reimu was unfazed by whatever Koishi had managed to pull off

The two girls peeked out from the water, Kokoro holding her top in fear of it falling off by the intensity of the water thrown and Maribel coughing out water to regain her breath. Koishi lifted her hands up with the guitar mostly broken in excitement

Koishi: "I beat the raid boss! Saw that!? I'm the best bard ever!"

Y/N: "I'm not even gonna ask where she got the guitar from..."
