   I was scared.
    Numb.
      Alone.
       All in one.

Fewer words ever said to me

"I love you"

"Stupid kid"

"Ungrateful"

"Selfish"

"Lazy"

"I love you"

When I remember my childhood
In sepia-toned film,
It burns slowly at the edges,
Always close to catching fire.

Moments I've had,
some gone forever
Even now, my memory is only half full.

I can't ask what happened
But everyone knows,
Even as I don't.

Like sitting in a room full of people,
but always alone,
with no one to talk to.

Like sitting in a room full of people, but always alone, with no one to talk to
