"Get up! This isn't your dead father's palace where you can sleep as much as you want! Let's go make breakfast for everyone and clean the kitchen. The morning workers made a mess!"

She jumps up, she looks around for her parents, breathing heavily, sweat dripping off her forehead.

"Where'd you go?"

She says in her head realizing she's not dreaming anymore.

She places both hands on her head and looks down. Then takes a deep breath in and gets up.

"Dounia!!"

"Mhhhmm!"

"Open the door and hurry."

Dounia background: 

Dounia is the daughter of Ashraf and Jameela who died in a mysterious car accident when Dounia was 6. The Khans voluntarily took over Dounia's responsibility. She lives with the Khans as a maid. She was never sent to school after her parent's death no matter how much she begged and cried. She learned how to handle the kitchen all by herself at age 8. Khans are an extended family. Most of the members move to foreign countries. Currently, Dounia lives with Uma the oldest maid in the palace, and Asaad the youngest child of Mr. Jalal Khan who owns the palace. Mr. Jalal has one daughter and two sons. His oldest son and daughter study in England while the youngest son is living like a prince ruling the house.

Dounia's description: 

Dounia is currently 17 years old. She loves to read. Even though according to Mr. Jalal she is "forbidden" to touch any books, she's got a secret tiny room in her dusty old room where she keeps a bookshelf and a few old albums of her parents, and a doll that was gifted by her father when she was 5.
Dounia is an average-height tall, light brown girl with wavy hair that almost touches her knees. She got her father's beautiful big light hazel eyes. Large black lashes and lips that she bites 24/7.

Most of her days are spent in the kitchen making breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In between when she gets time she cleans the house. Which is impossible to clean in one day because Mr. Jalal owns a very old classic vintage palace. All the Khan's ancestors had been living in this palace for centuries. There are hundreds of rooms in the palace and a big garden in the backyard. Dounia is responsible for taking care of almost everything inside and outside of the palace. Uma is here to do nothing but judge Dounia and backbite.
