—"Hello, are you (Y/N) (L/N)?"— he politely asks.
—"Uh... Y-yeah? Do I know you sir?"— you ask with a puzzled expression.
—"I doubt you do. I am Samuel Loomis, a child psychologist. Do you have a moment to talk?"—
—"Eh... I believe that I'm not in the need for a psychologist, thank you."— you politely reply with a awkward smile, feeling a bit unsettled by the presence of this random man.
—"No it's not about you. It's related to... Michael, Michael Myers. You are like his babysitter, are you?"—
—"Yeah kinda... W-what about him? Is he alright?"— you look at the doctor a bit more worried, your gaze showed nothing but concern.
—"Yes he is alright, he and his mother are in the principal office. They found the corpse of a dead cat in Michael's backpack. Apparently he brought it to school on purpose."— the doctor glances at you, his expression dark and serious.
—"Oh... Well, Michael told me yesterday that sometimes he brings the corpses of his pet rats to scare people that bother him."—
—"Have he ever told you how they die?"—
—"No... But he always adopted only one, so maybe because of... Loneliness?"— you say in a doubtful tone.
The teen was feeling really unsettled at this point, she knew Michael had his weird side but she never really questioned it. Loomis notices her confused gaze so he sighs and decides to continue speaking.
—"You see (Y/N), I am concerned that Michael has some sort of disorder or problem. The dead animal he brought to school was a house cat of one of his classmates, the corpse itself looked horrible. Twisted and broken spine, broken paws, fractured neck. And it seems like it was killed this very same morning."— he says in a serious tone. —"Had Michael ever brought you any corpses of animals?"—
The girl stayed quiet, shocked by the state of the corpse of a cat. She couldn't wrap around the fact that Michael, the literal ray of sunshine she knows and loves could ever do such gruesome thing. Then she remembers the odd 'pranks', the ones where some dumbasses left dead animals on her porch... Should she mention it?
After a bit of thinking, the teen just sighs and looks down. It's best to tell the truth, this guy is a professional after all, maybe he is right and Michael does need help.
—"Well... Sometimes I see some dead birds or animals in my front door, these were the animals of my neighbors. But I never thought much of it, it could just be some kids from my neighborhood being funny."— you look at the doctor again.
Loomis just nods in silence, writing down (Y/N)'s words.
—"Had Michael ever got violent or showed aggression?"— he suddenly asks.
—"With me, never. We sometimes playfully fight but he never got violent or hurt me, he even panics when he thinks he hit me 'way too hard'."— you couldn't avoid but smile a bit after remembering these moments.
—"Interesting... But do you know if he ever hurt someone?"—
The teen was about to answer no, but then she remember how Michael stabbed Steven with the pencil. The girl becomes conflicted, one part of her wanted to tell Loomis about it, but another wasn't sure about it, since the boy didn't hurt the teen because he wanted to or felt like it, he literally tried to defend her from that creep.
Loomis sees her conflicted gaze so he just sighs and writes something down.
—"I'll take it as 'not sure'."— he finally hides his notepad and turns his gaze to you, his eyes were dark and serious. —"Now (Y/N), I would like you to be more observant on Michael's behavior, these type of cases always start slow, with hurting small animals and picturing dead, but it soon can grow into something way more serious."—
—"Are you saying that Michael is a psychopath?"— you frown at the doctor.
—"Of course not, but this is why I need you to pay attention in case something in his behavior changes. You spend more time with him, you seem to know him as good or even better than his own mother does. With your help we still have time to discover the problems he has and help him."—
—"I... I guess I'll do it, as long as it helps Michael."— you reply but your voice still held a bit of hesitation and distrust in the doctor.
—"Thank you for your contribution, I'll come around next week to talk to you again, have a nice afternoon (Y/N)."— he nods at you and walks away.
This unusual chat left (Y/N) with conflicted emotions and thoughts. A part of her refused to believe that Michael, the little boy that always hugs and snuggles to her in such loving way could end up turning into a cruel person. But another part was concerned since a literal professional warned her, so that must be truth. But this man could easily be some sort of drugged weirdo and all he just told her is just bullshit, I mean... What kind of professional just randomly comes at you, tells that your friend may be a psycho and asks you to help with their investigation?
—"(Y/N)!"—
Michael's cheerful voice pulled the teen back to reality, she focused her eyes on the little boy who was rushing towards her with a smile. The girl smiles back at him, she should stop overthinking about what Loomis told her, after all it's not her problem, she is just a 15 y/o teen who's biggest worries are her math homework. Plus all the doctor asked her to do is to keep taking care of Michael as always, so yeah...!
"Everything will be just fine."
