—"I think your brother doesn't like me..."—
—"He doesn't like anyone, not even himself."— she scoffs whilst entering her room.
(Y/N) just frowns, it starts to make sense why Michael is so silent, she would be too if she had such a 'wonderful' sibling...
. . .
The next couple of hours passed quick, Judith was writing the information on the cardboard while (Y/N) was making drawings about the topic. They were almost done but decided to take a small break before continuing.
—"Wait so you are telling me you don't have any crush?!"— Judith exclaims in disbelief.
(Y/N) shrugs.
—"Just waiting for the right one, Y'know. I don't want my partner to end up like my mother and leave me behind..."— you awkwardly reply.
—"Oh come one, Y'know you can always find like 10 more dudes to hook up with if you know how to look for them."— she winks at you.
—"Thanks but no."—
—"Okay okay, good luck being a church nun."— she teases with a mischievous grin.
—"Good luck to you too finding out who the baby you just gave birth belongs to."— you fire back with a grin as well.
The two girls stay quiet, but then all of the sudden begin to laugh. Despite being so different from each other, Judith and (Y/N) managed to find the perfect balance, this is an odd but interesting friendship.
Unknown to them, the blonde boy peaked trough the door slowly and instantly focused his eyes on the (h/c) haired girl. Michael stayed like this for a while, until (Y/N) finally noticed his presence thanks to his intense stare.
—"Fuck off Michael, we are just taking a break so don't bother!"— Judith fiercely exclaims at her brother.
The girl began to feel quite uncomfortable but also bad, maybe the boy was bored or curious to see what they were doing? It won't hurt if he stays with them, right?
—"Hey Judith it's alright, we almost finished anyways. Let him stay here for a bit. Plus I have enough materials to let Michael draw as well if he wants to."— you kindly offer.
Judith was about to deny, but (Y/N) then gave her the saddest puppy eyes her face allowed her to make. The blonde teen just sighs tiredly and points at her bed whilst looking at Michael, who was looking back at her sister.
—"You put your ass there and don't stand up until we finish, got it?"— she strictly commands.
Michael happily nods and quickly jumps on the bed without a second though. The blonde boy then glances again to the (h/c) haired girl and she just smiles back awkwardly. (Y/N) then quickly rummages in her backpack and takes out some spare papers and pencils which she offers to the little boy.
—"Here you have buddy, feel free so draw whatever you want."— you smile at him.
The girl then notices that Michael smiles back at her, a small barely noticiable smile, whilst he takes the material and begins to draw. Taking advantage of the now calm atmosphere, (Y/N) and Judith decided to finish the damn homework for ones. But as soon as the girl began to scribble on the paper again she felt Michael's eyes on her again, curiously but also intensely staring at her form.
It made her feel nervous for a moment, but she quickly shook this feeling and continued drawing. Michael was just a little kid and he was just being curious, it seems like he was really intrigued by her skill so it's obvious that the boy wants to watch her.
. . .
—"Phew, finally. I don't want to touch an history book for the rest of the month."— Judith says whilst sighing tiredly.
—"And I don't want to hold a pencil for the rest of the week, my wrist hurts."— you say whilst moving your hand around because of how sore your wrists were after drawing so much.
All of the sudden, a voice of a grown man resonated from downstairs. (Y/N) looks at Judith with a puzzled expression and the blond just replies with a tired sigh and a small shake of her head.
—"Ronnie woke up... I think you should go home (Y/N), before he begins to yell and be annoying."—
—"Oh... A-alright!"— you nod and begin to pack your things into your backpack.
Whilst packing, (Y/N) noticed sudden mood change on Michael's face, he was now all gloomy and serious. The girl felt even worse for the boy, so she decided to gift him something to cheer him up.
—"Hey Michael, can I ask you something before I go?"— you come closer to him.
He tilts his head as answer.
—"Tell me, which drawing of my sketchbook you liked the most?"— you innocently ask whilst passing your sketchbook book to him.
As soon as the sketchbook was opened Michael's eyes widened, not expecting such art skill from the girl. The young boy looked and appreciated every detail of each drawing in silence, his blue eyes were completely concentrated on the pages. Michael then smiles again, brighter than before, and instantly begins to rummage trough the pages of the sketchbook book, until he stops and signs at a drawing of a scary clown with a red balloon.
—"This one? Yeah I like this one too, it honestly took me a while to finish."— you comment with a small giggle.
All of the sudden, the girl begins to carefully rip the page off, gaining a surprised and a puzzled expression from the little boy.
—"But I think you should have it."— you say in a tender voice whilst extending the peace of paper towards him.
Michael just stares at the peace of paper and then at the girl, his eyes going back and forth in silence, until it's finally broken by another voice, the boy's voice.
—"...For real?"— he looks at you with a doubtful expression.
—"Mmhm! I insist, so you can have something nice after our odd interaction."— you lightly laugh.
The boy doubts for a second, but after glancing at (Y/N)'s face he smiles as well and carefully takes the paper.
—"I'll protect it with my life."—
—"Sure you will buddy."— you reply and affectionately ruff his hair.
The sudden physical contact made Michael tense, but as soon as he felt how affectionate (Y/N)'s movements were he quickly leaned into her touch.
—"Ugh, are you two done? Cause it's getting late and Michael has to exit my room immediately."— Judith grumpily says.
(Y/N) just rolls her eyes at Judith's grumpiness and Michael doesn't even acknowledge her comment. After giving one final wave to the little boy, the (h/c) haired girl followed Judith down the stairs and Michael went to his room, holding and staring at the drawing his new friend gave him. The boy kept repeating the same sentence in his mind over and over after today's interaction...
"(Y/N) is really kind and sweet... I like (Y/N)"
