Chapter 04 (Part One)

Nathan received a glare and a particular finger for that.

"Relax Nathan, I'm not getting any hostility off of Evan. That's just how he talks to people." Varian said to Nathan, trying to calm him down. Not that Nathan wasn't already calm. He just didn't like the idea of someone calling another person dumb. Playing or otherwise.

Evan nodded thoughtfully. "He has a point." 

Raising an eyebrow, Nathan simply hummed to himself. Varian remained silent after that, glancing around. Evan, however, suddenly snapped his fingers, saying, "Hey, Varian, you're here!"

Nathan really didn't get Evan. But he stayed quiet and sighed, whereas Justin gave Evan a confused look. "... He's been here for a while now."

"Yes, yes he has." Evan said before moving closer to Varian quickly and throwing his arms around him. "But our reunion was cut short the first time I saw him again." 

Varian sighed and glared at the contact, telling Evan to get off as Nathan sneered slightly and rolled his eyes. He did notice Justin frowning slightly, but quickly decided that he didn't want to comment on it.

"Evan, let go of me before I sock you in the mouth." Varian threatened, holding his glare. Even let go immediately, backing away. 

"My bad. Always wanted to try that though."

Nathan couldn't help the smirk that crossed his face at that, ducking his head to hide it. Of course, he forgot that he was trying to hide something from two Changed vampires. One was bound to notice it.

"Fail. I totally saw that." Evan said. Nathan rolled his eyes slightly, dropping the smirk.

"One thing I hate about Changed vampires."

"Hate? Never. We're adorable. Have you seen our fangs? They're the latest rage. All the teens nowadays are doing them."

"Oh yeah. Super adorable." Nathan replied sarcastically. There has never been, nor will there ever be, something that Nathan would consider 'adorable' about Evan.

Varian sighed and shook his head. "Evan, shut up. Go bug Justin or something. Even I can't stand you for this long."

"Yes, by all means, bug Justin." Nathan mumbled as Justin gaped at the two of them.

Evan's expression lit up as he flounced over to Justin, hooking their arms together. "Well, don't want to let that offer go stagnant."

Nathan snorted quietly as Justin sighed, glaring at both him and Varian. Varian only shrugged. "Think of it as payback for all the times you annoyed us."

And Evan wasted no time in dragging Justin off with himself. Not that Nathan minded.

Now that Evan and Justin were focused on each other, Varian and Nathan could actually have a conversation. As for Millie, she just tended to listen in, but at the moment she was somehow MIA again. The woman seriously knew how to disappear.

"You know, I still don't know how Evan knew where to find me."

Nathan shrugged in response. "Gaydar, maybe."

Varian couldn't help the snort. "I might be gay, but It's not that obvious. The heathen probably ran into somebody in town who shops here."

Nathan smiled slightly and Millie suddenly appeared in the room- from wherever she liked to go- sighing and narrowing her eyes. "I can just tell this is going to be a very slow day," she mumbled.

Varian disagreed, this day was going pretty fast. Then again, he'd been busy most of the earlier portion of it making sure Venerra would be good for school which was coming up in a couple weeks.
