I'd like to first take the opportunity to shout out Alexis Daría's book ~ A Lot Like Adiós. If I hadn't stumbled upon this great 'vacay' book I probably wouldn't have put pen to paper. Not to mention I'd have no title for this tale 😉

To my "primas" this would still be an errant daydream that only existed in my wayward mind had it not been for all of you. I have never been quoted before except by the amazing writer Terri Diane Roth. Of course, it was only in the form of a comment and she may not recall this because it happened many moons ago. Although for me, I was totally fan-girling which is why it stuck. Everyone needs someone like her in their lives, mega supportive and an all round too-kind-for-their-own-good person. I'm glad to call her a friend. She was also the first person to call me a writer, a label that always rattled me (in fact call me Cleo, if you still remember 😜). But I have always just thought of myself as someone who likes to give her opinion in her favourite medium - words.

Then there is my soul sister, @rana_baki. We seem to be forever operating on the same telepathic wavelength. Therefore, the term soul sister is a perfect Cinderella glass slipper fit for my sweet and very dear friend. And you might be asking yourself when did you inspire this but I'll have you know that just your friendship was/ is enough.

And last yet certainly not the least impactful is, @pseudoechofan. You once commented that you would love to read one of my offerings. Well I hope it was worth the wait and that it lives up to your expectations.

❤️❤️❤️
