The Final String (Book 3 of the Red String Trilogy)

Chapter 1

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

I jump from bed barely awake, "Let me in!" Nick shouts, slamming on the door again. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" I reply putting my fuzzy slippers on and trudging to the door. When I finally unlock it I'm met face to face with Nick who currently has a tray in his hand and what I can only assume is a paper bag of bagels in between his teeth.

He pushed past me walking in and setting the bag down on the counter. "Good morning princess!" he sings off key, cringing at the sight of my unwashed dishes. Nick was also a neat freak, which was strange because by the way he dressed he didn't seem like the type.

Nick puts the bagels on plates and then sits down at the counter. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?" I ask picking my hot chocolate up off the counter and taking a sip. "Couldn't sleep." he tells me simply. Chewing his food loudly. "We should probably get going soon" he tells me. "Ty, Connor, and Lily already went to the airport." I drop the bagel back on the plate my mouth filled with cream cheese. "Crap, what time is it?" "7:40." I groan "Alright just let me get my stuff." I tell him heading to the bedroom.

I roll my suitcase out into the main room and Nick already has a luggage cart with his things on it. I was wearing a simple back shirt that use to be Luke's until I stole it and my comfiest pair of sweatpants. "Let's go!" I try to say with as much enthusiasm as I could. We were constantly on the move and honestly getting up at 7: 40 was the most I've slept in since Atlanta.

I hold the door open and Nick rolls the cart out into the long hallway. And my phone vibrates.

So where are u going today? -Vana

Shouldn't u be in class? -Sky

Nah, prof's sick so the summer classes is cancelled today -Vana

Still can't believe you're taking summer classes and um... not sure let me check -Sky

"Hey Nick, where are we going today anyway?" I ask, Nick rolls his eyes not even surprised I don't know where we're going. "Las Vegas." He smirks. My eyes nearly pop out of my head "Are you serious!" I grin excitedly.

"Would I lie?" "Yes!" He chuckles "Alright fine... but I'm not lying now" "Nick this is incredible!" I squeal engulfing him in a hug. He make a noise at the impact "Well we're not going to get there if we miss the flight so I suggest we hurry." I nod not being able to knock the stupid grin off my face as we get into the cab.

What?!?! U lucky bastard and I'm stuck in my apartment all weekend studying :( life is not fair -Vana
