Out in what use to be flat plains now rolling hills stood three figures

The first from left to right was Yuri Alpha, her appearance much still the same with her glasses giving her that mature appeal the blue collar around her neck making sure her head doesn't fall off the only difference was that her maid uniform was missing it's armor plates and her spiked gauntlets

The second was Lupusregina Beta, her maid uniform was still much the same as it was already passable as normal the only missing thing was her scepter though the real oddity was instead of the cheerful expression she always carried was replaced by a frown facing the ground in shame as the third person scolded her for her mistake

These two were chosen specifically because they were available and passed as human alongside the removal of any weapons or forms of armor were done in order to not incite any fear into Nazarick's invited guest...which went out the window when you were also there breaking the façade

If your imposing height and stretched proportions alone weren't enough to have anyone question whether life was truly worth it Nachzehrer would surely make any weary and prepare for a possible trap

Which there was none, this was simply ceremonial to welcome your guest

(Y/n): do not think just because he has pardoned you does it mean you are exempt of a scolding...I even vouched for you...only to prove me wrong as you slacked on your objective and had to learn of the village's situation from the young lady...

Yuri kept her eyes closed as this was a matter between you and Lupusregina, as much as she would like to stand in defense of her sister

Lupusregina: you will-ah!

You pull on her wolfen ears hidden beneath her cap enough to draw tears as she cries in pain

(Y/n): that does not mean you are free of punishment, the only reason I even forgave you in the first place was because you managed to redeem yourself in the end as such I can't have you making these mistakes again.

It wasn't fully her fault, as Ainz said if only you let Sif go in her place there wouldn't be need for punishment so the blame was on you, but even then you can't be tolerant on mistakes even if they stemmed from you

Once you held her ear long enough you release it her hands rushing up to her ear rubbing it whimpering in pain flinching when her red fur is exposed to the air feeling your warm hands upon her wolfen ear soothing the pain with soft rubs

(Y/n): though I hope you can forgive me too, as I am to blame for your mistakes in the first place.

Lupusregina: h-how could I not for-forgive you Lord Gier, it w-was I who failed you?

She spoke through short hiccups sniffling trying to control her tears the sight making you grit your teeth in remorse

(Y/n): you did not fail me, does the village still stand?

Lupusregina: yes...

(Y/n): are those three Ainz tasked you to keep safe alive?

Lupuregina: yes...

(Y/n): then did you fail me?

Lupuregina: no.
