TW violence, self harm
Wednesday spends the next thirty minutes reading the messages from Enid, they ranged from her trying to talk to her normally to her being slightly annoyed by her not answering, then to her being extremely upset. While Wednesday had ignored her, Enid had been suffering at her parents home, and she faced breaking up with Ajax, though it was rectified (god knows why). Wednesday feels a pang of guilt spread throughout her body, she hadn't been able to be there for Enid when Enid needed her to be. Normally Wednesday wouldn't care about hurting someones feelings, but besides her family Enid had been the only person to accept her for who she was and though she didn't feel inclined to accept it, she had felt slightly happy to find a "friend" in her polar opposite.
Enid was understandably upset that Wednesday wouldn't answer her messages especially after saving her life and finally being able to hug the shorter girl. Wednesday draws her lips into a thin line and glanced over her shoulder to see Enid already looking at her, she glanced down at Enid's open phone, she sees a long string of blue messages without any grey. Wednesday wonders if she had been looking at her unanswered texts when Wednesday had walked in. As Wednesday was about to turn and walk back inside she felt a hand grab the back of her shirt collar, tugging her over the edge of the balcony. As she falls she hears Enid's scream of "No!" While she rushed out to the balcony. Just as Wednesday passed by the alcoves in the tall stone tower two stories below her and Enid's balcony, she felt the hand tug her once more slamming her up against the smooth grey stone of the side of the tower. She can hear wings flapping, and just as she's about to opened her eyes after the sudden impact a hand wraps itself over her eyes, slamming the back of her head into the stone once more.
She feels her feet trying to stand on one inch of a stone ledge, her hands reach up to the hand pinning her against the cold wall. She wraps both of her hands around the persons wrist, feeling its thinness. She hears Enid screaming her name from above.
"Who are you?!" Wednesday manages to choke out her question despite not fully regaining her breath from her back hitting the wall. "What do you want?"
The person holding her hisses at Wednesday, pushing her bleeding head harder against the tower. "I wish to send a message." Wednesday doesn't recognize their voice, she swallows hard, reaching her right hand out to try and touch the persons face. The person digs their nails into Wednesday's temples, swatting her hand with their other arm.
"A message to who?" Wednesday puts her free hand down to her side, pretending to give up.
"To you." As her attacker speaks Wednesday pulls a switchblade out from her waistband, swiping it at the person, she feels it connect with their skin and listens to their scream in pain and anger. The person uses all their strength to throw Wednesday, turning their whole body and flinging her into the wall across from the two. Wednesday lets out a hollow gasp, the air escaping their body. She falls from the wall she was thrown against and lands on the roof of another part of the school, she starts to slide when her wrist is grabbed.
She can't muster the strength to look at her attacker, but she feels their long nails gripping into her as they pull her back up, she hears growling, and finally looking up at the person holding her she sees Enid fully wolfed out, looking into the sky.
"Enid.." Wednesday only manages to whisper the werewolf's name but she hears it nevertheless. Pulling Wednesday to her chest Enid continues to glare into the sky, Wednesday can hear wings in the distance growing quieter. After a couple minutes, as Wednesday is clinging to her consciousness, Enid finally stands. She holds Wednesday in her arms as she jumps from the rooftop, swearing the whole way to the nurses office.
She bursts through the door and even though its late at night the three nurses on duty rush to the two girls, they take Wednesday from Enid and whisk her to a bed. Quickly assessing the damage to the short girls body. Enid stands at the entrance where the nurses left her, her breath heaving in her chest. She lifts her hands to her head and holds herself, gritting her fangs.
As the nurses spend the next hour throughly checking Wednesday for wounds they find numerous along her torso and sides, Enid watches them discover each one, slowly transforming back into her human form. She stares slack-jawed at all the cuts along the poor girls body, she smells the familiar scent of her roommates blood, the pure scent of it sending shivers along her spine.
"My god, theres so many." The nurses attend to the ones actively bleeding; the back of her head and her temples where the attackers nails dug into her skin. They notice all the cuts on her body are from different points in time, three of them being very freshly scabbed and then ripped open during the fight.
A nurse notices Enid's naked human form, rushing to get her a hospital gown. She is ushered to sit down yet she refuses, instead walking up to the team of nurses bandaging her roommate. As she stares down at her she recounts every time she had seen her in the last two days, each time as she was moving throughout their room, the school, she was bleeding. Every time Enid gave her the cold shoulder and acted harshly towards her she was freshly cut. The rush of memories stops at the moment the night before where she had come back to their room smelling like vampire. She can almost hear her brain screeching to a stop. She goes to sniff Wednesday, the nurses eyeing her warily. She feels her blood begin to boil as she recognizes the scent from last night.
She commits the scent to memory, knowing that if she ever smelt it again she would be sure to know who it was.
