“She was lost

In so many different ways

Out in the darkness with no guide”

(Chanel)

Her smooth 5’5 frame snakes through the club, demanding everyone’s attention which is expected when you’re wearing a tiny red dress hugging her every curve. She ignored the hard stares and continued to strut through the large crowd.

“Excuse me.” She said squeezing between sweaty bodies. She finally spotted her destination up ahead. Her freshly manicured hand pounded at the wooden door in order to be heard over Lil Wayne’s voice coming from the speakers.

“Who is it?” his deep baritone barked through the door. She cleared her throat getting closer so she could be heard, “It’s Chanel.” It was silent on the other side as he debated on whether of not he wanted to talk to her. She was about to walk away when she heard the sound of the locks twisting, letting her in. The room was dark and smelled of marijuana and sex. “Whatchu need?” his 6 foot stature towered over her even in her heels and his 350 pounds intimidated her.

“I need to talk to you.” She replied finally noticing the other presence in the room, a familiar face sitting on the arm of his chair.

“Sit down.” He directed taking his seat behind the custom made desk where lines of cocaine rested, next to some unidentifiable pills whose purpose is probably get someone so intoxicated they forget their name. “So why are you in my office?”

She fidget with her hands, “I-I want to quit.” He chuckled pulling an expensive cigar out of his desk, not lighting yet. “It don’t work like that Chanel, you and I both know that.” Rock responded leaning down pressing a finger to his left nostril while he inhaled deeply with the right. The other woman in the room, sitting on the arm of his chair reached over and wiped the white residue away.

“I need out Rock, I-I I know you had a deal with my dad but he’s dead and gone now and I have a career. I-“

“Aye shut the fuck up!” he barked shutting her up right away. He took a deep breath like he just ran up a flight of stairs. “I’ll see you tomorrow, on time. You better be here Chanel or I’m fucking yo ass up. Aight?” He didn’t even give her a chance to answer before he snorted another line of the white powder. Feeling like shit she got up, shooting him once last look before leaving.

(King)

“King, your9 o’ clock is here.” The young intern announced popping her head into his new office. All of this is new to him, working a 9-5. Law school was always something his parents wanted for him and because of the right connections he finally finished, two years ago. He spent all of last year interning a firm and when he applied for the district attorney job he didn’t actually think he’d get it. But here he is, in his new office overlooking the entire city.

“Thanks Elise, send him in.” he replied straightening up his desk a little. As he waited for his client to come in, he twirled around in his chair to peer over at her. The glass walls allowing him to stare hard. On his first day here he remembers being so mesmerized at her beauty.

“Uh.” The sound of someone clearing their throat made him snap back around, feeling like a child getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar. “Kai?” King questioned.
