Soap motioned for her to take the sweet baby, and she did. She asked about the leg, then the scar, how his mission went, if they were keeping the cat, etc. In the midst of this, Price asked about the new member, the kitten. He was heavy about it going to a Humane Society, but the group went against this. Gaz even offered for the kitten to sleep with him at night and have the letterbox in his bathroom.

The gathering then split ways after some time, but Soap and Y/n didn't as they made their way to the couch to talk more.

The kitten stared up at Y/n as she admired it, holding the precious creature with so much love. "Camou?" Soap had given the name of the kitten, and Y/n repeated the name out of wonder.

"Reminded me of you. The leg and pattern are the main reasons," He noticed Veil was crutchless, but figured this could be talked about later. He softly rubbed the tip of his index finger across the kitten's face, a soft smile on his face.

Veil looked up at him, a grateful grin on her lips. "The main reasons? What are the other ones?"

Soap also looked up to see her, her face more beautiful than it was before he left- he didn't even know how. "The personality. It's cheesy, but when I first met the bastard she wanted nothing to do with me. Then I forced myself to help her out, and now she loves me."

"I love you?" Veil questioned, squinting at him.

Soaps face turned red, excusing this as he just chuckled and looked back at the cat, "Who doesn't? I'm a pretty great guy. I'm hurt because I thought you recognized that by now."

Y/n rolled her eyes, feeling Camou squirm in her arms. She figured the kitten should search around the place, gently placing the cat on the floor. The feline then began to limp off, curiosity etched across its tiny face.

"So- Price was saying we all go to the bar area tonight to celebrate the win. Do you think that's too sudden?" Veil questioned, knowing it was a possibility the team would just want to relax. She didn't blame them one bit, but apparently that wasn't the case.

"Oh fucking hell, Veil. You have no idea how badly I need that," He was down to get the drunk first night back. This wasn't shocking.

---

Four hours passed by, and the group made their way to a cute little room on base that served its purpose as a bar. Everyone was nicely dressed, and even with their new wounds, they looked great. The Captain requested for Laswell to watch over the cat, and she did with not a second of hesitance.

Price wore a gray hoodie, a beanie covering his head and simple jeans complimenting the fit. He talked to Gaz and Target, congratulating them both on how well they did. He was proud.

Ghost was reluctant to go, being the one to just go to his room. Y/n was grateful for this though as it would have been awkward.

Gaz wore a black button-up with jeans, off talking to Price. Target wore a red dress, one arm sleeved and the other revealed, and lucky for her, the revealed shoulder was the hurt one.

Soap was in a flannel with a hoodie under it and wore some simple jeans as well, drinking away as his sanity heavily relied on it. He was at first strict about Y/n getting drunk since her body was still healing in his mind, but she waved him off and said she was fine.

"Being drunk will numb the pain."

Y/n wore a black skirt, mainly for her leg, and a white button-up shirt, off at the bar with Soap. She listened to his stories about what happened. How he got food for Camou, how it didn't hurt getting his scratch, as well other things. They didn't waste their time together, chatting away.
