Chapter I: Business and Family

Zenae slipped into and custom made form-fitting white and gold gown with a feathered train. She paired it with 6-inch white and gold heels, which were studded with rhinestones.  she slipped on a 7-carat double-banded diamond bracelet and put teardrop diamond earrings in her ears. After checking herself over in the mirror, she went to help her husband finish getting ready. This was a big night for them and they had to look their best. Monte was in the bathroom in front of the mirror fighting with his bow tie. she stood in the doorway for a moment watching and chuckled, then walked up behind him and quietly fixed his bow tie. He smiled and kissed her forehead before checking himself over one last time. She helped him with his jacket and smoothed out his shoulders. as she turned to leave, he wrapped his arm around her waist. "What is it Bae?"  He looked deep into her eyes and paused for a moment before he spoke. "I just wanted to thank you for standing by me all this time. Thank you for our beautiful family, and all that you do to help me with the business. I never dreamed in a million years that a chance meeting at church would turn into 4 years of the best relationship I have ever had. You are my backbone, you look out for me when I'm not looking out for myself, and you protect me from things that I might have missed. I love you and I'm so glad to have you as my wife."

She smiled and a single tear fell down her cheek. He wiped it away, and she could see the tears running down his cheek. she wiped them away as he led her back into the bedroom. He pulled a box from his pocket and got down on one knee. Zenae felt her breath catch in her throat. He opened the box and got down on one knee. inside was a 12-carat triple-banded wedding ring set. He removed her other wedding set and slipped the new set on her finger. They shared an embrace and a kiss before heading downstairs to kiss the twins goodnight before heading out to the waiting limo.
