                              ~Hi, I'm Sky and I Give Girls a Bad Name~

I had a choice to make. A choice I was forced into making. One which could, and would, change everything. However, I didn't know if I had the capability to make it, or if I ever really got the choice.

This is what I would be saying to myself sometime in the near future, I just didn't know it yet.

 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever experienced blissful happiness?

Being completely content, even for a moment, in whom you are or what you're doing. Some people claim they have had this experience, brag about the magnificence of it. But then later will look back upon it and realise they were naive. That what they believed, was false, a misleading heart desperate for sheer bliss - sanctuary possibly. But then again there are them contrasting people who look back and realise they were also naive, but for opposing reasons. That they were allowed one of these rare special moments, but somehow they let it slip from their grasp without fully appreciating its beauty and splendour - they took it for granted.

Both of these situations can leave people in pain. Turmoil.

But we are only human. And humans crave affection and protection.

They live for acceptance.

And kill for love.

I believed I had experienced complete bliss numerous times. When I was surrounded by the texture of the rough cloth-y canvas and the intoxicating aroma of freshly opened paints or when I was huddled under mountains of quilts, clutching the pages of a spine broken book, water threatening to leak from my eyes, or probably my favourite; when I was given the privilege to name, what would become the greatest joy in my life - my little sister.

Bella. It meant beautiful and it suited her to a T.

Beautiful or not, it did not stop Bella from performing her morning ritual of awaking me every freaking morning in the most irritating way she could conjure up. So as I slept soundly, dreaming of a giant mammoth sized gummy bear that was saving me from the sea of man-eating rubber ducks or something else absurd that my...rather peculiar brain could conjure up, while cocooned in my eclectic sheets, Bella was preparing herself to wreak havoc.

Everyone knew once she climbed upon my bed what scene was about to take place. The extremely energized 8 year old would jump up and begin bouncing, far too excitedly for 7 in the morning, most definitely anticipating my enraged morning temper and revealing in it. As per usual, I was dead to the world, sleeping soundly through every movement - even when Bella came threateningly close to my head. Sometimes people actually believe I've died in my sleep, only the crucial slight rise and fall of my chest ever gives my beating heart away. However, this never disgruntled Bella's mood or effort, in fact, it fuelled it.

Bella switched tactics to her personal favourite at the moment - probably because it was my most hated and dreaded methods of all - one she had learnt through observation from our dad when he had the privilege of awakening me in the morning before he passed the role onto Bella. She ambled into the bathroom, where our mother's daily routine was taking place. Bella gestured to the cold tap and facecloth that hung on the edge on the cream white sink and our mother automatically knew. The disapproving look she was sending her was lost by the smile that was creeping upon her face, unable to control it. You couldn't deny Bella's adorable dimple dented cherub face. The chubby cheeks - that were still present from her baby fat years that still tried to hang on to her every-growing frame - that held her big deep blue eyes which reminded everyone of the deep ocean, along with dark eyelashes that were as long as the Amazon River and ashy blonde locks that framed everything off. She was a beautiful sight - her name matched her perfectly.
