Prologue

My story is of a boy who has been neglected for the entirety of his life. He is lonely, depressed, and unable to escape his isolation. From a young age, he has always been overlooked. Treated as though he is an object rather than a person. An object that can be taken advantage of and utilized whenever. The lonesome, commonly referred to as Itself, is the real life portrayal of loneliness if it was to be characterized as an external figure, rather than an internal feeling. When one is experiencing feelings of isolation, in most cases it follows them until something is done to alleviate it. In the boy's case, he has no one to help cure his lonesome, leaving him to suffer as it utterly consumes him. Although this story contains fictional situations and occurrences, the concept is very real. Many people on a daily basis experience social isolation or loneliness. Alone and afraid, they keep to themselves and suffer in silence. Similar to my story, people do not always feel heard. They don't feel accepted and are unable to escape the isolation that is caused because of it. They are unable to share their voices.
