The Fresh Start

      My curtains flashed open, violently shining the bright light into my eyes and causing me to wake up

"Mom?" I mumbled out because you know I was forced to wake up "hun get your ass ready we don't have any time for you to sleep in" my mother glared at me "Alright I'm getting up" I made sure not to piss her off because I am not getting no ass whooping today

"Wear something reasonable, you'll change into your new uniform anyways but I don't want you getting made fun of on the first day" my mom said grabbing the door knob "I love you, you know that right" she said before walking out "I love you too" she closed the door before I could finish my sentence

"She's in a nice mood" I spoke to myself sarcastically while getting out of bed, 'now what do I wear' I thought; I walked to my closet and opened the creaky door. "Shit I have literally no good clothes" I said while I grabbed some baggy pants and a t-shirt (or sweater) "this will do" I shrugged. I changed quickly and rushed down the stairs looking for the bag I propped up on the downstairs wall.

"Shoes?" My mom said looking at my shoeless feet "I'll put them on in the car" I said grabbing them while my mother grabbed her keys "the car door is unlocked just get in" she said walking behind me, I nodded. Swung the door open and sat in the front seat as my mom opens the other door and gets in. "First year at nevermore! Isn't that fun" my mom started the car "yeah I guess" I shrugged, 'it wasn't that big of a school' I thought (obliviously I haven't seen the school)

We drove about 45 minutes to the school

"Well I hope you have a good time here, make some friends and stuff" my mom spoke in a monotone voice "I already had friends in my old school" I groaned "they were a bad influence" She continued the monotone voice "yeah, yeah" she always thought all my friends were a "bad influence" she just doesn't want me to be happy.

We parked in front of the school

I opened the door and squished out of the car as my mom did the same "holy shit" the words just slipped out seeing how big the school really was "Y/N! we do not use that language" blah blah blah "sorry" "hello Ms. L/n" Principal Weems said "and y/n," she grabbed my hand and shook it "nice to meet you" she smiled at my mom and me "Now come with me to my office" she said in a way too positive voice that I could not handle

We followed her to her office and got a half assed explanation of the school and it's values then she took us to my dorm

"So you'll have a roommate, his name is Ajax and his a," she paused thinking but continued to walk to the dorm "oh what do you kids call it now in days, I believe... Stoner?" She stopped at a door and grabbed the door knob as my mothers face was pale from the word "stoner" "He's a Gorgon in my terms" Ms.Weems said "oh.. so like Medusa?" My mother asked "indeed" the principal smiled at her

"Well enough chit chat!" The principal said while opening the door. She nudged me to go in as I stood there "stop being shy" my mother whispered as she pushed me in "Ajax this is your roommate, his name is y/n" Weems said "gosh another new kid," he took a breath "hey y/n" he got off his bed
