Invisible String

CHAPTER 14

All the cadets and their squad captain are now gathered at the training ground waiting for their commander. Soon enough, Erwin appeared by the door, followed by Luna. Everyone, especially Levi, was awestruck by the blue eyed woman's beauty. All of them couldn't take away their eyes as they appreciate how her uniform hugs her body. Since she's only wearing a plain uniform with the white button up collared shirt and the pants, without the jacket and cloak,  it's made her body features more noticable.

"Oh my walls, she's gorgeous."

"She's like a goddess."

"I would do anything to be with Luna. And I mean, anything."

"Look at that body."

"How can someone make a simple uniform so sexy?"

Levi, who's not so far from the drooling cadets, heard everything they said and it sure enraged him. With a searing glare to their backs, he walks over behind them and yells, "ON YOUR HORSES, NOW! OR I'LL DRAG YOU ALL MYSELF AND TIE YOU SO YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO SWITCH TO YOUR ODMs WHEN A TITAN APPEARS!"

Hearing the threat from their Corporal and acknowledging the wrath in his voice, everyone ran to mount their horses before the small man could do something to them. With tensed bodies, they lead their horses to line up according to their formation.

The Corporal mounted his horse and went to his own formation. They soon made their way to the gate where they will be entering the enemy's territory. While waiting for Erwin's signal, Luna took the opportunity to talk to Levi. She led her horse towards his side and stopped just close enough for her to murmur.

"Levi." She called out the captain who was busy checking his squad. He noticed that she called him by his name, meaning she's serious. He turned to face her and hummed as a response, like asking her to continue. "Remember your promise?"

He couldn't utter a word because of the passionate kiss they shared that day that lingers to that reminder so he only ended up nodding at her.

"Thank you. But please be careful too. I know I asked you to keep them safe but that doesn't mean I want you to put yourself in far more grave danger. But I trust you and your squad. So I'll be waiting here for your return." Luna says before giving him a soft smile and leaving to go back to her post.

The Corporal felt warm by her words. He's never had someone hope and wait for his return every expedition so this is all new to him. A part of him wants this to last long but he's afraid that he's only getting this because she needs something.

Disregarding his thoughts, he called out the woman with his low voice. "Luna."

"Hmm?" She turns around to her left with her questioning expression, but in a soft way.

"Be careful too."

The woman smiled at him after hearing his words. She nodded at him and said, "I will" with her soft voice.

As soon as Luna disappeared in view, the squad couldn't help but ask their Captain. "Heichou, are you and Luna together?" Eld was the one who asked only because the others forced him due to their fear of their Captain.

"Shut up." Levi replied, back to his authoritative self. He was still feeling the warmth from Luna's words but he didn't want to look soft to his squad. Lucky for him, Hange was positioned to the other side. Away from them.

Shortly, Erwin gave the signal with his voice booming around the area as he shouts and charged into the open gate.

Luna watches until the last scout disappeared in her view and the closing gate blocks her. She lets out a heavy sigh that she didn't notice she's been holding the entire time, praying that everyone will come back safe.
