~~~Levi's POV~~~
———At the Underground———
"Hi, my name is Hannah. Can you stand up?" She asks sweetly and offered her hand to help me get up.
I looked at her hand, not a single callus. This girl must have had everyone do things for her.
"Oi, Hannah. Don't just come around this place like that, it's filthy." The old man looked up and tried to stop the girl from coming near.
She's definitely not from around here, judging from her appearance. She's wearing a blue dress that looks expensive, her shoes are polished nicely, her eyes are blue, and she has dark wavy hair tied with a blue ribbon. I'm surprised she even survived all the way here. She's probably with this old man who's sitted on the floor in front of me, beside my mother's dead body laying on the bed. He said his name was Kenny and claimed that he used to know my mother, but I couldn't care less as I just stared at him with my lifeless eyes.
"Don't worry, we won't hurt you." She said with a hint of genuine concern in her voice, completely ignoring the old man.
I looked at her and she smiled at me before I look back at her hand. I slowly reached for it. When she noticed I was going to hold her hand, she became excited and held my hand, but to my surprise, she held it with so much care, like it's a delicate thing she treasures most.
"Careful, don't force yourself." She says as she guides me up.
"Heh, you really take a lot from your parents. Good girl." Kenny says as he comes near us and pats her head while smiling. She smiles proudly back at him, giggling.
At some point, the scene in front of me makes me jealous. I know I'll never have this kind of moment with my mother ever again.
"I'm sorry for your loss, Levi. I promise you, we'll give a proper funeral for your mother." She says with sadness plastered all over her face, like she read my mind. "But for now.." she continues, "you need to come with me."
She gave me an assuring smile before gently guiding me outside the room and into a street where a lot of people are gathered. She tried to make her way through the busy crowd, trying hard not to drop my hand. Soon enough, some tall men saw her struggling and they helped her by basically making a way for us to move swiftly. I'm guessing those are her servants. She smiled and thanked them then continued walking.
We soon found our way to two people, looks like a couple, giving food to the people. I notice Hannah's face lit up from the sight of the couple.
"MOTHER! FATHER!" She shouts excitedly which caught their attention leading them to face us. "Look, I made a friend! His name is Levi."
She was probably listening to me and the old man earlier since she wasn't there when I said my name.
The woman bent down to our level and smiled at her, "That's good, Hannah." Then she turned her gaze to me, still smiling. "Hello, Levi. My name is Selena, I'm Hannah's mother. It's a pleasure to meet you."
The man came up to me and introduced himself. "Hello there, kid. I'm Hatha Walter, this little girl's father." He playfully pinched Hannah's cheeks making her giggle.
"Can I eat with Levi, please?" Hannah says with pleading eyes.
"Of course, sweetheart. Come, come." Her father says leading us to a clear table.
Her parents served some food on our table. The woman sat beside Hannah while her father sat beside me. They took care of us, of me, like I'm part of their family. It gave me a weird warm feeling.
