I never hid Hal's parentage from him. I let him watch Wonka, one of the only movies appropriate for his age. When he got older he'd see the others too. He loved watching his dad walking around in a top hat.

"Daddy," he said at the tv.

"Good job angel," I said as I prepared for our walk and picnic.

"Daddy, has hat," he said joyously.

"Yes he does, you have a hat just like it," I said, it'd been his birthday present a few months back, for his second birthday.

"Same as Daddy," he beamed.

"Yup, and you have the same eyes," I said, pointing to his eyes. "And the same freckles," I booped his nose, and he giggled. "And the same crazy curls!" I ruffled his hair.

"Wear hat on walk?" He requested.

"Sure baby," I said with a smile.

We got everything together and went out, Hal proudly wearing his top hat, and marching. I was lost in thought, when Hal started up an ear piercing screech.

"DADDY! DADDY! DADDY!" He yelled, I'd never heard him say it like that.

"Baby, what are you talking about. Daddy is back on the tv."

"Y/n," I heard a breathless voice say. I looked up in absolute shock, to see Timothée. I placed a hand over my mouth as Hal screamed, begging Timothée to pick him up.

"Hey there you, is this your mommy?" He asked Hal. Hal nodded excitedly, still begging to be picked up. Timothée obliged him, and went in to hug me, but I backed away. His face fell.

"What's your name cutie?" He asked Hal. Hal looked more content then I'd ever seen him. There was even a change in his eyes as he laid his head on his father's shoulder.

"Hal," he squeaked

"Hey," Timmy laughed. "That's my....." he trailed off, and his mouth fell open. He turned to me slowly.

"He's mine?" He whispered, awe and tears filling his eyes.

"No he's mine," I snapped, Timothée looked hurt. "But if you wanna know who provided the sperm, yeah it was you."

"I didn't know," he said, his grip on Hal tighter now.

"Of course you didn't know, you were off gallivanting with Destiny, where is she by the way?" I demanded. Timothée pointed a short ways a way to a pregnant woman on a park bench. Fiery anger consumed me. She was getting everything I'd never had.

"Wonderful, congratulations," I rolled my eyes.

"It, it isn't mine," he said slowly. "She uh, cheated on me."

"You deserve that," I said without remorse.

"I know I do," he said, looking at the ground.

"Hat like you," Hal said, beaming.

"Yeah," Timothée said, staring at the small boy with wide eyes.

"Wonka!" Hal commented.

"Wait, he knows? You didn't tell me, but he knows?"

"Why do you think he was screaming 'Daddy'? He earned the privilege of knowing, unlike you. What you did to me was so horrible, so selfish!"

"I know, I'm so sorry, believe me I am," he said, and tears filled his eyes.

"Can we go out somewhere?" He asked pleadingly.

"What about Destiny?" I asked.

"I actually, just broke up with her. She knew it was coming, and didn't really mind. So I'm free to do whatever I want with you."

"I wonder," I said sarcastically, and covered Hal's ears. "How many times I would've had to suck your cock to get an in-person break up."

"I know," he hung his head. "What I did was beyond terrible. Can't you let me try to make up for it a little?"

I was about to say no, when I looked at Hal. Hal was so happy. He loved his daddy already. I owed it to Hal to have just one conversation with Timothée.

"Fine," I said, and let him guide me. Hal wasn't letting him go, and Timmy wasn't letting Hal go. We ended up at a small cafe. We ordered, and got Hal a high chair. Hal was humming 'Hat Full of Dreams', as he scribbled on the kids place mat.

"First, I want to say I'm truly sorry for what I did. Nothing makes it acceptable. I have changed though, I've gone to therapy. I-I have thought about you every day since I realized what I did was so shitty."

I glared at him for the curse word. He looked alarmed.

"Sorry, bad," he amended.

"If you've ever sat around and wished I was aching without you, you would've gotten your wish. About a year after, I started missing you like crazy. I couldn't find you since you moved out. I began comparing everything Destiny did to you. I would cry, I would break things. I finally went to therapy because I felt so messed up about messing up the best thing I ever had. I feel like the worlds biggest idiot."

"You kinda are," I smirked.

"I even started praying I'd bump into you someday. I pictured myself getting on my knees and making this big proclamation that swept you off your feet. When I saw you I just froze, and then I was in front of you without even realizing what had happened."

"So you're saying you still love me?" I asked.

"Desperately," he breathed. "I want this, I want Hal, I want you, I'm willing to do whatever it takes. You want me to quit work, I will. You want my money? Take it, it's yours. Nothing is as precious as your heart."

"You always were a helpless romantic," I chuckled through the tears that had welled in my eyes.

"Only for you," he promised, tentatively reaching across the table to take my hands.

"I would like you to take a break from work, we'll need to be around each other to see if this can really work."

"Done," he said, a light of hope in his eyes.

"I never really got over you. I haven't felt the same about anyone since you, and I've really tried," I told him, he leaned down and kissed my hands.

"I was so stupid, so, so stupid," he said earnestly.

"I'm going to kiss you now, but don't think that means you're off the hook," I told him seriously, and he nodded. I leaned forward and let my lips touch his. The instant sparks made me breathless. This was home, he was home.
