Noodle didn't notice at first. The green haired alien had blended in well in the background. She ordered a chai latte and stared outside. She saw a strange, green glow in the reflection of the window. Whispers coming from people surrounding it. She turned her head, blowing the spikey hair out of her eyes and only now seeing Aidyn. They were the guitarist of Slugz, the rising alternative punk band. They had collaborated with great artists such as Ollie Alexander and Maynard James Keenan. The front woman, Marina was known for being... shameless on stage.

Noodle blinked. What were the odds? She knew that, professionally, the best thing to do was go to another café and forget about this. But she couldn't contain herself. Curiosity got the best of her. She got up from her seat, adjusting her skirt, and walked up to the extraterrestrial. She leaned her elbows on the table, sitting across Aidyn.

"Look who we have here. Aidyn, right? I'm Noodle."

She held her hand out offering him a friendly smile. Aidyn's eyes reminded her of 2-D, but Aidyn's were a deep reddish brown. Aidyn returned the smile, his antennae suddenly at attention.

"I knew that, but nice to meet you anyway."

Noodle realised she had forgotten her latte. She excused herself and ran back to her previous place. Returning with the drink, she asked Aidyn how things were going. Small talk.

"Things are going great! We sold a ton of merch during our last gig, you must have heard it too, right?"

Noodle chuckled.

"Yeah, I did. Murdoc wasn't pleased with the news, heh."

Both trailed off into gossiping about their fellow band members.

"You should have seen Mudz's face. I didn't even know a green person could turn red from rage."

Aidyn paused and looked Noodle dead in the eye. She then realized.

"Oh, uhm, sorry... Was that offensive?"

Aidyn smiled at her hesitant expression.

"Don't worry about it, just don't compare me to your band leader again. It's not much of a compliment, is it?"

Noodle let out an awkard laugh.

"A-anyway, uhm..."

Quick, think of something to say, she thought.

"... your hair looks really nice!"

She blurted out. If Aidyn could blush, they would've done so by now. They ran their left hand through their dark green dreadlocks.

"Uhm, thanks..."

They sat in awkward silence. Noodle cursed their attractive face. If it weren't for that, she would have been the confident, playful girl she always was. But something about Aidyn made her feel... different. She decided not to think about it too much. Aidyn got up.

"I've gotta go, wanna walk with me to my hotel?"

She hesitated. Would she not make it more awkward instead? No way, she was Noodle from Gorillaz! She wouldn't lose to Slugz!

"Sure!"

She drank the remains of her latte and put on her pink fluffy jacket. Aidyn was wearing a woolly cardigan over a funny hawaiian shirt with the baggiest pants she had ever seen. It showed either a fashion statement or extreme laziness. She liked to reason it was the first option.

They walked down the street, talking about the success of both bands.

"We might even get a second guitarist, y'know? His name's Ace."

"Cool! We've never really considered getting more band members, although I replaced Paula back in the day."

"Who's Paula?"

"Uhm, nevermind."

They arrived at the hotel. Now is your time to ask them out, Noodle, she said to herself.

"We should hang out again sometime!"

Aidyn gave her a wide smile.

"Yeah, we totally should! Maybe we could even do a collab once our band members get on better terms, heh."

They waved goodbye. Noodle's brain was whirring. A collab, huh?
