Ghosts can write?

Notes: in this AU; Ghosts can interact physically with objects and here's how it works for Ghosts aging, if a ghost died at 12, but never found a human then that ghost would never age but the moment the ghost chooses a human to be 'attached' to they become the same age as the human they select; pausing when that human dies, this doesn't have to be strictly romantic and can be platonic 

Example: Before Myrtle chose Victor she was stuck as a 12 year old, now she's begun to age with the human she selects (I.E Victor); meaning although she did die in the 1940s she's technically now only 14, though she does use 1940's slang and terms as she hasn't socially interacted with people since before her death..

that and i thought it hilarious that 'dish' meant attractive person and wanted to see Victor be very confused on it

Victor turned around and before his window was a strange brown owl, it looked like the ones used in Hogwarts oddly; before Victor realized it WAS a Hogwarts owl, letting it in he wondered who sent an owl from Hogwarts, Scotland to contact him when he was in France, he figured it might've been a letter from Mcgonagall or some such thing, but low and behold it was a letter from..Moaning Myrtle?! he backed up in confusion, remembering how he spoke with the specter briefly last year after walking in once desperately needing to use the bathroom..he upon instinct took a shot of 1991 Vodka, right as the Soviet Union collapsed he mused, he briefly wondered how things were going in Russia now their Communism was out the window; as he turned his attention towards the mysterious letter, he wondered how the ghost was able to write, opening the letter it began

Dear, Victor;

You might remember our lovely first conversation

Not really lovely, Victor mused as he thought back to how he had apologized and then asked for her name and accidentally forgot the 'Moaning' part and called her simply Myrtle, which made her practically swoon as he left the bathroom to go to class

Or not, i suppose you humans do forget things very easily no?

well you're probably wondering how i'm able to write;

simple us ghosts can grab anything physical as long as we concentrate

Now i just thought that since you're the only person who's ever not called me by that horrid nickname

that maybe we could just talk over letters

P.S looking back that ending does sound kind of stalker-like; but don't worry i won't do that even though you are a bit of a dish

P.P.S: the owl's name is Eric, please give him cheese; poor bird had to fly across an ocean after all!

Victor was perplexed at being called a dish but figured it was a 1940's thing and shook his head at the odd letter before going into the trapdoor, returning with the cheese he gave to Eric who paused, waiting for a return letter as Victor began writing he sent it off

Dear, Myrtle

I certianly do remember our lovely conversation

in the instance that humans are forgetful; i concur

and i was indeed wondering and did not know that was possible for ghosts to do

i would be glad to chat over letters though i definitely do not envy the poor birds, i would love to get to know you better this year

so far my parents yelled at me for making a 'wise-guy' comment on that Qudditich match gone wrong, even though nobody was hurt, however they're right i suppose if i mouth off the wrong thing i'll end up dead, you know how the common people can be eh?

Victor then sent off the letter to the poor owl as it flew off to soar across the ocean once again and he laid on his bed, staring at the ceiling before deciding to clean his room and then sneak into the trapdoor, grabbing a quick shot of 1993 whiskey before heading to the arena where he began practicing his foil

1993 A.D

The halls of the second floor of the infamous wizarding school were strangely absent of the usual depressing sobs and cries the teenage ghost of the area wailed out as instead when Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, known after his death as Nearly Headless Nick went about his day he noticed the lack of sobs from the teenage spirit.

curious he went into the walls and passed through, as he passed through he discovered the 12 year old spirit soaring around happily, holding a strange letter in her hand, this spiked his curiously as Nick called out "Moaning Myrtle? what makes you so happy on this day? not that it's a bad thing of course it's just you're usually so.." he paused trying to find a polite way to phrase it as Myrtle stopped and flew towards him "What?! i'm so glum, gloomy, mopey, depressing, sobbing, pathetic all the time that the moment i find a reason not to be it's bad?!" she shrieked before giggling at his scared expression "i'm just kidding Sir Nick!, i'm happy cause i got a pen-pal! remember that one Ravenclaw boy from France i told you about? Victor?"

she then started to flush a little remembering as Nick realized something "wait a minute, Moaning Myrtle; you've..aged?, that means; this French boy, this Victor..he's the human you picked?" she then nodded, blushing a bit despite being a specter, as she then spoke "yes, well i decided to write him a letter and he wrote me back as soon as he could; though..he does seem a bit, troubled; in a way, his family just yelled at him and he's saying he deserved it" this caused Sir Nick to turn "well what was his supposed crime?" she then pointed out how he just made a joke out of a 'tragedy' where nothing happened "and even if something did happen, some people cope with bad news by humor!" Nicholas couldn't understand the reason to yell at the poor lad, even though Victor was not a Raven Nick would try his hardest to help "thank you Sir Nick!" Myrtle said as Nick realized he said that out loud and nodded "no problem my dear, no problem at all"
