I watch as the small 8 year-old grabs the ball. I'm actually impressed that she can lift it off the ground. She grunts as she brings it back, determination filling her small blue eyes. She throws the ball down the lane. I watch as it takes down 6 out of the 10 pins. She groans then glances back at me. The tears in her eyes make my heart melt.
"Hey, hey, hey." I quickly say, walking up to her. "You're so close! Look," I snatch a ball off the pinsetter. Well, I think that's what it's called. "It's all in the wrists. You have to twist to make the ball turn." I give her an example in the lane over. Her eyes widen as all the pins fall over. "Strike!" I cheer. "Alright. Now you try!" I hand her a ball. She sniffs. Then all the tears come out. "Come on. Stop that. Look at me." She avoids eye contact. I wipe a tear off her face. Her bright blue eyes meet mine. "It's just a game. Your not in the professional league or anything. Remember what you told me when you came in here? You just wanted to have fun! So just have fun with it." She whimpers and looks down. "Come on, Bella. Knock down the pins."
She takes a deep breath, and turns toward the lane. She brings her arm pack and throws the ball. The ball flies down the lane knocking down the rest of the pins. She squeals and jumps around. She grabs on to me, giving me the equivalent of a bear hug.
"Thank you!" She murmurs, before darting off to tell her friends.
I look up at the scoreboard, feeling pity for her. That was her only spare. The rest of her family managed to get one or more strikes. For a girl like her, she deserved better. I sigh as her father walks up to me.
"You've gotta strong girl, there." I say. He nods.
"I know what it's like. Being the youngest is hard." He puts a hand on my shoulder. "Thanks for helping her out though." I give him a small smile. He turns and leaves.
My system gives me an alert. Showtime's in 10 minutes. I smile. Can't let the kids down! I head over back to my room. I turn on the lights and grab some paint so I can touch up my looks. I reach over to my headphones and put them on. I scroll through my playlists of songs to put myself into the right mindset to preform. There are so many great artists out there and it's kind of surprising that so many dedicated their time to make songs about us.
"Hello Bonnie!" I hear as the door opens. I spin around to see my best friend, Freddy.
"Hey there, Fredbear! What can I do for you?" I say with a smile.
"Are you ready for the show, superstar? The kids are so excited!" I look down to see a couple clinging to his leg. I snort.
"Sure am! I'll meet you down there. Maybe after we could go get a slice?"
"Of course! If the staff say we can that is..."
"Alright then, see you in a few." I sigh as he leaves. Humans are always so scared of us that they can't even let us have a few free choices. Why even create us if you think we're gonna glitch out and hurt someone? Whatever, they can create us and destroy us. Best not to get on their bad side.
I head to the back of my room where the elevator is. The elevator leads to parts and service, which leads to the stage lift. I reach the lift right as Freddy does. I smile at him as Roxy and Chica appear.
"Hey girls! All set?" I ask.
"Of course!" Chica says.
I look over behind them. Monty stands off at the door way. He doesn't preform, he's just the golf mascot. But he's supportive of us anyway. I do kinda feel bad for him, but he seems cool with his position. He catches my eye.
"What are ya lookin' at, rabbit?" He asks.
"You're sure that don't want us to ask the staff about getting you a spot on the band?" I respond. He rolls his eyes.
"If they wanted me, they would've already done that." He pauses and looks up as the music starts up. I glance at Chica. We both know how much he wants the spot light. "Quit worryin' about me. M'fine. Now get goin'. You're fans are waitin'."
"Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! Fazbear Entertainment would like you to put your hands together for the one and only - Freddy Fazbear!" The announcer says. The lift starts rising. I glance back at Monty. He watches as we go up, before turning and walking away. I can't help but notice that his tail is drooped. 'He's fine,' I tell myself and put my fingers on my guitar.
