26. One and Only

Ellie grins taking a seat on the sofa – " Arnav posted a picture of him and Khushi, announcing their relationship...on his social media...."

Rajesh is pleasantly surprised by that. He had been wondering, when the boy would do that, anyway. Wasn't pleasing to his eye,as Khushi's father - to catch on his rumoured link up in the grapevine with his colleague again,after knowing Arnav and Khushi were now,together. But he hadn't said anything to the boy, because, well, he didn't want to be interfering too much this time around, with the intention to let the kids be. He knew he was super sincere when it came to Khushi.So he felt, there was no need to drill the boy, on the collateral affects of his showbiz life. But yes, this news brought him momentary delight surely. He asks Ellie again - " really?he finally posted it? they haven't even reached the hotel yet?right? still enroute back form the harbour?,"

Ellie nods relieved showing him her phone – " yes...but I guess..this is good..Raj...so so good....it was needed...because..of all that noise about him and his collegue, Syna...in my mother's heart...I am just so relieved...aren't you too? I am sure, you are...."

Rajesh Maan nods at that. Well, he was relieved, about the same, obviously. He says now – " well, I am relieved...Ellie..on that accord...obviously...its good...that he announced it...just reconfirms his sincerity for Khushi...again,"

Ellie grins – " he's always been so sincere for Khushi...on that note...Raj the kids will be here in a couple of days time...I have already prepped up a room for him as you know...but I was thinking...why not...you also take time off work..so that we can just get to know Arnav closely too, it would make Khushi happy right??"

Rajesh nods at that silently - just fighting another bout of guilt within. Off late – since the last couple of days, he was having a hard time dealing with guilt of the past on this accord again – as he'd connected with Arnav on texts – with Khushi's update etc. He feared, the guilt would just consume him more, when he saw Arnav in front of him. He was a good boy.He always had been. And the fact that he had wronged the boy then, or perhaps was still wronging him today by asking him to harbour this secret from Khushi..did trouble him...deep down within..on and off....

But, then, despite that as always, he'd find his mind win. It was what it was.His mind convinced that inner voice. Whatever happened...just always had to remain a secret...

Khushi could never know....

She could just never know.

He hears Ellie say now – " well, Raj, my phone's just started to beep with texts back to back from all our near and loved ones here...everyone wants to know if this is true..."

Rajesh nods at that – " well, give them the truth...Ellie...just give them the truth....,"and he hears her say at that – " I will...obviously...also think only fair...we have an honest chat with..,"and she pauses knowing she didn't have to fill in – more on that for she knew – her husband understood – that it was about time, the two had an honest chat with Samarth's parents – who were also the two of their closest – in their circle.

Samarth can't help but smile to himself at the sight off the picture up on his phone – that Arnav just posted of him and Khushi – announcing them being together. Well, about time, he thought.
