Jorge could not bear the sight of her lifeless best friend so she did not have the courage to enter the hospital room while Risa is weeping and her mother is supporting and comforting Risa.
Leni glanced at Jorge through the glass window and signalled for her to come inside but the latter is just staring at them blankly.
While Jorge is still staring at Anje's body, she noticed that the machine showing Anje's heartbeat moved from a flat line to a moving heartbeat line. She went inside to double check if she indeed saw that Anje already has a heartbeat and she confirmed it when she entered.
"Ma? Mama Ris? May heartbeat na po si Anje." Jorge said and rushed to the nurse's station
"Nurse? Can we call a doctor? May heartbeat na po si Ms. Baraquel." She said to the nurse
Upon hearing it, the nurse rushed to call the doctor. When the doctor entered Anje's room, Jorge followed. The doctor then examined if Anje really did have a heartbeat and the doctor confirmed.
"Doc? How is she?" Risa asked
"She has a heartbeat now, Senator Hontiveros. I checked her to make sure that everything will be alright and she's all good now. She is in a good condition. We will be transferring her to a private room and wait for her to wake up." The doctor informed Risa
"Thank you so much po, doc." Risa thanked the doctor
"Mauuna na po ako, madam President, Senator Hontiveros, Ms. Robredo." the doctor said and went out of the room
When the doctor left, Risa embraced Leni.
"Oh, langga. Thank God at buhay ang anak ko." she told Leni
"Yes, mahal. Hintayin na lang natin siyang magising." Leni responded
Leni and Jorge did not leave Risa until Anje was already awaken. They made sure that aside from Risa, they will be one of the first persons to see Anje once she wakes up.
A few minutes later, someone knocked on the door of Anje's room and Jorge opened it.
"Ate Yannie?" Jorge surprisingly said
"Hi Jorge. Sorry, I did not tell you na pupunta ako dito to visit Anje." Yannie told Jorge
"No worries, ate. Pasok ka po." Jorge said and Yannie entered the room
"Good morning po, Madam President, Senator Risa." Yannie greeted the two older women upon entering the room
"Ma, Mama Ris, this is Ate Yannie po. She is working sa munisipyo somewhere in Bulacan. Ate Yannie, I know that you already know them but this is my mom, Mama Leni and her girlfriend, my future step-mom, Mama Risa." she introduced them
"Nice meeting you, Yannie." Leni told her
"A pleasure to support and meet you po, madam." she responded
"These white daisies are for Anje po pala, Sen." she told Risa and handed her the bouquet of daisies that she brought
"So thoughtful of you naman. Thank you. You are from Bulacan?" Risa thanked her and asked while she is putting the flowers on Anje's bedside table
"Opo, Sen." she responded
"Ang layo niyo sa isa't isa but may I know how you became friends with my Anje?" Risa asked curiously
"You may find it weird po, Sen but nagkakilala po kami sa stan twitter. We have stan accounts po sa twitter and we are mostly tweeting about you and ma'am Leni. And dahil din po yun sa pagshi-ship namin sa inyong dalawa." Yannie explained
"So totoo nga yung sinasabi ni Jorge sa akin na may barko kami ni Risa?" Leni asked
Jorge laughed upon hearing what her mom just said.
"Ma, hindi po kasi yun literal na barko." Jorge told her mom
"Ship po yun. Parang love team ba. Eh ngayon naman hindi lang kayo love team sa paningin namin, you are in a relationship na." she added
"Okay na, gets ko na na walang barko." Leni responded
"Masaya po ako, Sen. Ri at madam President na finally, official na po kayo." Yannie told the two women
"Thank you, Yannie but for now, we are keeping it private. The country is not yet ready for a news like this one." Leni told Yannie
"Of course po, madam. I am privileged to be one of those people na nakakaalam po ng tungkol sa inyo. Our time will come po na we can freely tell the whole world about the people that we love with no discrimination." Yannie responded
While they were chatting, Anje was awaken and she called Risa in a weak voice.
"Ma?"
Upon hearing it, they all looked at Anje and rushed towards her.
"Anak, you're awake!" Risa exclaimed
"Tatawagin ko lang po ang doktor." Jorge said and went out to call the doctor
When the doctor came, he examined Anje.
"She's doing great, Senator Hontiveros. Your daughter is really a fighter. She may be discharged tomorrow." the doctor said and left
Risa can't help but embrace her daughter because of so much joy.
"Anak, look who's here to visit you." Risa said and Yannie came towards Anje's bedside
"Ate Yannie?" she asked
"Ako nga." Yannie answered and chuckled
"I brought you white daisies, ito oh, nasa bedside table mo." Yannie told her
"Thank you po, ate. Bakit ka pumunta eh alam ko pong busy kayo?" Anje asked
"I heard from Jorge that you were shot and it's also on the national news. Jorge kept updating me and when I knew you were transferred to a private room, I decided to visit you kasi gusto ko rin makita kung kumusta ka na." Yannie replied
"Thank you, ate Yannie." Anje said
Risa walked towards them and put her hands on Yannie's shoulders and the latter blushed when she felt the lady senator's hands on her shoulders.
"Oh. Hinay-hinay lang sa kilig, ate at nandito ang jowa niyan." Jorge said in jest
"Si ate Yannie, hindi ba naman mapigilan ang kilig eh kakagising ko lang." Anje butted in even though her voice is still a bit weak
"At bakit naman may kinikilig?" Leni asked
Jorge, Anje and Yannie exchanged glances and they laughed.
"Hindi ako ang sasagot niyan baka mabatukan ako ni mama." Jorge said
"Aba, lalong hindi ako baka pag ako binatukan din, hindi na ako magising this time." Anje responded
"So, ako na po ang magsasabi." Yannie said
"Pasensya na po, madam President kasi crush na crush ko po talaga si Sen. Risa since 2016 pa." Yannie confessed
"Huwag po kayong mag-alala, crush lang naman po, baka masakal ako ng jowa ko." she added and they all laughed at her remark
