Today is the first day of summer. I decided to go back home to New Bern, North Carolina. It is located at the confluence of the Neuse and the Trent rivers, near the North Carolina coast. I've been away from my family for the longest time, and this is the perfect time to go back and take a rest. I really want to take a long break from everything I am doing. It's hard to handle and juggle everything. But I do love it. I work as a consultant. It's quite trying. Everything seems like a routine; my life is just a cycle of work, talk, eat, sleep, and repeat.

I tried to be productive today. I spent my time reading some books, chatting with my family and even spending my time with my plants. I'm glad my mom has a green thumb. She really takes good care of my plants. These plants are my babies and I feel so relaxed whenever I am looking at them. But what else can I do? Summer is going to be long, and I don't have anything to do.
I am about to sleep when my phone suddenly beeps.
