"Lord Kazekage, this matter is of utmost importance! You must abide!"

Gaara's brow furrowed as the village elders hit him with verbal plea after verbal plea. This was not the kind of thing he'd expected to be troubled with as the Kazekage, especially not so suddenly.

"But... I don't want to..." he said quietly as the elders looked upon him in earnest. Aghast at the Kazekage's reluctancy, one councilman slammed his fist down on the tabletop in outrage.

"Lord Kazekage, this is an important matter for the stability of the village! With a wife by your side, they can be assured of your stance as their leader, and you will be looked up on as a model figure for all the young men of our village!"

Gaara closed his eyes in defeat. He'd been sitting in there for nearly three hours straight arguing about this, and now he was just about ready to give up.

"Fine. If that's what you think is best for the village."
