Boy oh boy you were nervous, but on the bright side, Ahkmenrah couldn't take his eyes off you. The golden garment that hung off your body with the matching jewellery he'd made you just bought out your beauty even more.

And admittedly, the fancy attire did give you a bit of a confidence boost. It was fun to strut around feeling all graceful and important. The sun hadn't fully set yet, and the museum was still quiet. In the ancient Egypt exhibit, two extra sarcophagi sat either side of Ahkmenrahs. One for his father, one for his mother.

In front of then plaques displaying information on them just has Ahk had by his sarcophagus.

Merenkahre, the father of Ahkmenrah and third pharaoh of the fourth king. Discovered along with Ahkmenrah and his mother in their shared family tomb.

Shepseheret, the mother, the queen and the wife to the family. Also found in the family tomb, along with lots of glamorous artefacts.

Inside those two coffins were the parents you had to face soon, almost ready to come to life.

You, Ahk and Larry had taken the locks off the sarcophagus ready for when they awoke, and now you just had to wait.

Gazing down at the eloquently decorated coffins, you couldn't help but feel nervous no matter how many times Ahk told you it would be ok.

"Alright guys, only a few minutes left. I'll go unlock the minis and make sure all hell doesn't break loose" Larry said, leaving the two of you to wait in the Egyptian exhibit.

Ahkmenrah grabbed your hand, holding it tightly to reassure you it'd all be ok.

"We'll have answers now won't we? That's something to look forward to" he said.

"Yeah, you're right. I'd really like some answers before I get another mysterious dizzy spell" you replied.

Ahk was eager to see his parents again, not just because he loved and missed them, but because he got to brag about you and how amazing you were. He truly loved to take any chance he could to talk about you to anyone who'd listen. If you could do the same, you would. Although something told you that you'd probably get some funny looks if you told people you were in love with a mummy that has a magic tablet.

The minuets ticked down, and the tablet hanging up on the wall began to finally glow again. Slowly the museum started to move, noises of people waking up sounding down the halls, and as the tablet worked it's magic, the lids of the sarcophagus' were pushed off by the mummies inside.

Ahkmenrah smiled, overjoyed to see his parents again. It was his mother who saw him first, pulling the mummy wraps away from her head and taking a moment to let her eyes adjust to the bright lights above her. The moment she saw him, her eyes lit up, her heart soared and she jumped from her sarcophagus.

"AHKMEN!" She exclaimed.

"Mother..." Ahk replied, immediately rushing over to embrace her.

Shepseheret hugged her son tight, eyes threatening to well up with tears.

"Oh my sweet baby boy, I've missed you so much..." she smiled.

"I missed you too mum..." Ahk replied.

You couldn't help but smile at the sight, so cute. It was always so amazing to see your beloved happy.

It was his father that approached next, the mummy wraps pulled away from his face and hanging off his shoulders. He put his hand in Ahkmenrahs shoulder and broke the hug slightly to get a spot in the hug himself.

"Son" he smiled, just glad to see him again.

"Hello again Father" Ahk replied, pulling him into the hug too.

The family hug stayed there for a while, just enjoying each other's embrace and making up for the time they'd spent apart. But after a moment of enjoying the reunion, Ahk broke the hug apart and turned to you.

"Mother, Father... I want you to meet someone. This is (y/n), my guardian. My beloved" he said, holding a hand out for you to take.

You nervously took it, letting him pull you closer.

"I-it's a pleasure to meet you" you said, a slight nerve in your tone.

Shepseheret was again the first to react, a smile breaking on her face as she looked you up and down.

"Hathor has truly blessed you Ahkmen, they're beautiful, just stunning" she complimented.

You felt your cheeks heat up a little, rather flattered to be complimented by not only a pharaoh but your boyfriends absolutely gorgeous mother. It was clear where Ahk got his beauty from.

"Oh thank you..." you replied, shyly.

She reached out to caress your cheeks in that sweet motherly way that always made you feel better when you were sad.

"Thank you for looking after my baby in our absence" she smiled.

"I promise nothing has or will happen to him on my watch" you replied.

Looming behind her was Merenkahre, who had the aura you'd expect from a pharaoh. Powerful, imposing, almost scary. It did make your heart rate spike a little in nervousness seeing him approach you.

"What exactly are you mx (y/n)? A noble? A royal?" He asked.

"O-oh... I'm... an artist" you replied, immediately worried you'd not be worthy of Ahkmenrahs love.

"An amazing one! Look they even drew me and won an award for it" Ahk jumped in, pointing out the portrait of yours that was still hanging up in the exhibit.

His parents turned their attention toward it, awestruck at the realism. They hadn't been awoken in centuries, a portrait of this amount of realism was brand new to them and absolutely sensational. Used to the almost cartoonish style of ancient Egypt, this realism of yours immediately earned you their respect.

"My rah... it looks almost real! You surely must be blessed by the gods to have created such a masterpiece" Shepseheret said.

"It's as if you've frozen time and placed it on parchment, very impressive..." Merenkahre admitted.

Oh thank god, they at least liked your art.

"My darling is one of the most talented artists in all the lands, I assure you. There's many more works of theirs you can view. But uh... we need to ask you a question first, desperately" Ahkmenrah said.

His parents gave him a slightly confused look, wondering what could be so important the subject of their sons lover could be put to the side.

"I'll explain the full story when I've introduced you to everyone and explained where we are, but the short of it is well... the tablet has done something to (y/n)" Ahkmenrah explained, taking your hand and holding it out.

Palm up, the branding was open and in full view to his parents who immediately gasped at the sight and took your hand for a closer look.

"Unbelievable..." Shepseheret muttered.

"So it's finally happened, the spell has worked..." Merenkahre added.

You and Ahk exchanged a glance, the fact it might have been a spell confirmed now.

"A spell? The one on the tomb walls?" Ahk asked.

"Exactly that one, it's... a long story and one we kept from you along with the secrets of the tablet because of well... your brother" Shepseheret explained.

"The secrets were to be passed down to you at the right time" Merenkahre added.

Ahk gave them that signature sassy look of his, threatening to make you giggle.

"Well it has been 4000 years... now seems like a good time"
