(Rewrite of the "Understand" oneshot lol)
"Oh. It's getting dark, see you tomorrow, Leafy!" Firey says to Leafy, noticing the sunset before walking away.
"All right Firey! See you tomorrow! .." Leafy's face changed from a sweet smile to a slight frown. She brings her knees toward her face.
As she sat down on the grass, she kept on thinking and dozing off, staring at the sunset. Those thoughts stopped however, after seeing the blonde hair of a familiar yet unfamiliar person near her , Loser. He was writing something on what Leafy thought was a notebook. He had a slight smile on his face, it looked like he had a great day.
"Hm?" Loser then asks her something. "Do you need something?" He asks.
"N-not at all!" Leafy says nervously. They both stay in silence after that, the only sound they can hear is the sound of the wind.
"How was your day today, Leafy?" Loser asks, trying to ease the awkwardness of the silence. "It was fine.. I guess." Leafy says in a gloomy tone.
Loser seemed to notice. "Are you okay, Leafy?" Loser asks, out of concern. What an unexpected question, Leafy thought. "Y-yeah, I'm fine." She responds, still startled by his question.
"All right, however, if you don't ever feel well or need to talk, you can talk to me here, at the same spot, I'll always be here." Loser says to her. "By the way, you should get to your house soon, it's almost nighttime. Anyway, have a great night, Leafy!"
Leafy had thought about his offer. Maybe she will go. Maybe she won't. She just doesn't want him to tell anyone about this.
THE NEXT DAY
"Hey Leafy, is it alright if I leave right now? Because I still have lots of plans today." He says.
"O-oh, that's alright! Hope you have fun!" Leafy says to Firey.
Leafy was alone again. She wanted to talk to someone else but it seems like everyone else is also busy. She sighs, sitting on the grass once again, fidgeting with her fingers.
"Hey Leafy. Didn't see you there." She then looks to her side. "Oh hey Loser.." She chuckles nervously.
"About what you.. told me yesterday, are you going to tell anyone about the things that I say?" Leafy asks.
"Of course not, I don't tell anyone about anything unless they tell me to do so. I'll respect their wishes." Loser responds to her.
"Oh, okay." Leafy says, relieved.
"Do you need to say something, Leafy? If so, I'm all ears right now."
Leafy breathes in and out. "Honestly, right now, I-I don't feel like myself and-and I feel like I have to put on a mask and pretend to be someone I'm not." Tears began flowing down her cheeks.
"I-I just don't know why I'm doing this. I-I know what I'm doing is wrong. I know what I'm doing is hurting me inside." Nothing was holding back her words anymore.
"I'm honestly so jealous of you, Loser. You are really similar to me, so I don't get how you are so popular! Is it because I am so fucking obvious that I am not real or what? Or am I just not nice enough?! Do I need to force myself even more?!" Leafy felt a pair of arms wrap around her.
"Leafy, you don't need to fake anything at all. You can be yourself, you don't need to worry about anyone rejecting you. He lets go of the hug and looks her in the eye. "Even if they do, you still have people who love you and will accept you, Leafy."
"Thank you, Loser, I really needed to hear that from you." Leafy says to him.
"Maybe we can be friends, Leafy." Loser looks at her.
"Sure, why not." She looks at him with a smile.
