Addy walked home. She had a marginally good day by her standards. which means by that standards of anyone else would rate it a truly terribly day. She only got pushed down the stairs twice, her stuff knocked out of her hand five times, attacked once, and insulted thirty... well at least she thought. She always lost track of the insult count.
Addy was what her town called a Satan worshiper, which means she was a goth. Super christian town, yay! On top of that, she was ethnic, intelligent, and a natural beauty. For those of you that don't know, great things make great targets. She was bullied by everyone in her school, even the teachers. She had to work ten times harder in her classes to get the grades she does. At home, She is, by modern standards, abused. She has to clean the house spotless every night. if there was one spec out of place, that broom she swept the floors with was waking her up in the middle of the night, with force.
Addy carried her Heavy backpack, trying to avoid the bruises on her shoulder. Honestly, with all the bruises, she wondered if she ought get into a doctor to check for internal bleeding. But of course, what doctor in this town would want to help her? She decided she'd just ice them...again. as she turned the corner, her knee was met with an aluminum baseball bat. She felt her knee cap move to the very wrong side of her leg. The pain shot through her leg, making it feel as though her leg was being torn off. Knowing better than to cry out, she remained silent, and prepared for the next blows, pulling her back pack to cover her face.
She peeked out to see who it was this time. Of course, who else than her most common attacker, Jeremy Fowler. Jeremy was a sophomore in high school, only one year older than Addy herself. He had long blonde hair, cut Beiber style. If he wasn't constantly beating the snot out of her, she might have actually had a crush on him. "well look what THe coyotes left at the doorstep" He smirked
Addy chuckled. "Germy, there isn't any doors nearby, and plus, no one's seen a Coyote for months. and wouldn't you say that they'd take a rotten cow over me?" She babbled, analyzing her knee.
Jeremy kicked her in the stomach with his cowboy boots. "watch it, McCulloch, or next time, my new bat will plant itself in place you really wish didn't exist, Hellion." he hissed.
She nodded and watched him strut away. once she saw him safely away, she struggled to stand, but managed to. She had to practically drag herself and her backpack home.
As she walked in, she was met by the smack of her mother. " what took you so long!? The dishes don't do them self! Or the floors!" Her mother screeched.
" I'm sorry, M'am. I tried my best to get home as fast as possible. Jeremy got a new baseball bat and decided to test it out on my knee." She explained, bowing her head.
Her mother stared at her knee. "There's no blood, Adeline, I see no evidence, if he hit ya, he didn't hit hard enough. Now stop you're lying and get on your chores, they need done. I'm going out." She snapped.
"Yes m'am. I'll see to it your things are ready." Addy remarked, limping off to do just so.
After chores, she went to bed. She wrapped her knee with some ace bandage before sleeping, hoping that might help. It must have been a good night for her mom at the bar, because she didn't see a sign of that wretched broom.
The next day, she limped the two miles to school. If she rode the bus, they'd more than likely throw her out the window and leave her for the mountain lions.
She was late for her first class, which was seminar by five seconds. That meant she got an unexcused absence. As Addy worked on her five math assignments, Her homeroom teacher pulled her out. "Jeremy told us that he saw you in an alley, communicating with the devil. We aren't going to tolerate such disgusting worships in our town."
